She hosts the What I Know podcast, which talks about the big lessons that entrepreneurs have learned from their hardest times. Prior to joining Inc., she was a writer and producer for CBS News. She began her career interning for The Village Voice’s legendary investigative reporter Wayne Barrett. Her book about Reddit and Internet culture, We Are the Nerds: The Birth and Tumultuous Life of Reddit, the Internet’s Culture Laboratory, was published by Hachette Books.

Christine describes the craziness of the internet, the dark trenches, and the bright spots. He also explains the significance of thinking ahead on whatever things you’re currently doing to prepare for the future. She added the importance of having a high tolerance, flexible thinking, and mental agility on risks and failures whenever starting a business. But, never forget the accountability of whatever action you’re taking.

Moreover, according to her, in order to thrive and succeed in your business, humility and listening to your employees are key. This is the ability to open up difficult discussions before it is truly difficult, and planning how to act, and elaborate on their comfort level. Focus is really an exciting topic for him. David believes that money is a very important aspect of life but it’s not everything but happiness and fulfillment is. Furthermore, David suggests the importance of identifying your short-term and long-term goals. Never forget to do the things that matter to you and in your business. For David, it is maintaining integrity in doing the things you’re passionate about. So, you can feel like a Rockstar at the end of the day.

Put frameworks around your goals to create more awareness, and accountability in order to be extremely productive. Thus, be vigilant and disciplined at the macro level to be super focused. Be more proactive in protecting yourself from distractions. It is setting up an environment for success. Just stay hyper-focused and disciplined, and don’t let focus be taken away from you.

More importantly, never missed having time for yourself to recharge, celebrate, and plan. Give time on focusing on replenishment of your energy and nutrients. Only work when you’re working really well, and then only rest when you’re resting really well.

Finally, in the world of the monkey mind full of distractions, it is necessary to have the courage to face fears and turn them into confidence. Be committed to doing extraordinary things daily. Identify what you are afraid of and name it!

He is the founder, managing partner, and CEO of EF Overwatch, a specialized executive search firm, and talent advisory that finds high-performing business leaders for senior, executive, or other critical leadership positions. Also, he co-authored the book, ‘The Talent War: How Special Operations and Great Organizations Win on Talent’ and a columnist for Men’s Journal and Men’s Fitness under ‘The Everyday Warrior’ column.

When Mike retires from the military after 20 years of service, that's when he starts having self-reflection, conceptualizing things, and learning from his experiences. He realized that leadership, skills, and characteristics evolved during those dark times in the military field. Thus, he let himself grow and learn the things he must know and use this to make a new career in entrepreneurship.  Now, he has become one of the experts in this field.
