The No. 25 BYU Cougars escaped Boulder with a thrilling and hard-fought 24-21 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes in a dramatic Saturday night Big 12 contest at Folsom Field. In a game that served as a heated rematch of the previous season's Alamo Bowl, the Cougars demonstrated their resilience, overcoming an early deficit and fighting off a late Colorado surge to remain undefeated.

Colorado came out firing, leaning heavily on the explosiveness of quarterback Kaidon Salter and wide receiver Dre'lon Miller to take an early lead. Miller, lining up at the wildcat, scored one of the Buffs' initial touchdowns, helping Colorado jump out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter.

However, the BYU offense, led by true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier, found its rhythm late in the first half. Bachmeier orchestrated a crucial touchdown drive, capped by a 5-yard scoring pass to Chase Roberts just before the break, narrowing the deficit to 14-10.

The second half was a back-and-forth defensive struggle that saw the lead change hands multiple times:

BYU Takes the Lead: The Cougars struck first in the third quarter. Facing a 4th-and-2, Bachmeier hit Roberts again for a 4-yard touchdown pass, giving BYU its first lead of the night at 17-14.

Colorado Responds: The Buffaloes quickly answered, with Salter connecting with Miller for a 19-yard touchdown pass to retake the lead, 21-17, heading into the final quarter.

The Go-Ahead Score: BYU delivered the decisive blow early in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Cody Hagen took a rushing attempt 32 yards for a touchdown, putting the Cougars back on top, 24-21.

In the game's final minutes, the BYU defense proved to be the difference-maker. As Colorado attempted a potential game-winning or game-tying drive, linebacker Isaiah Glasker sealed the victory with a late interception of Kaidon Salter. Glasker, who was the Defensive MVP of the teams' previous bowl matchup, cemented the win by ensuring the Buffaloes never got a final shot at a field goal.

The hard-earned victory improves No. 25 BYU's record and provides a crucial road win as they navigate the tough waters of the Big 12 Conference. For Colorado, it was a bitter loss, highlighting their continued fight under Coach Prime but leaving them just short of a major upset.
