How is that we, as Latinas, struggle with not feeling latina enough?? How is that our own community can make us feel “less” latinx at times?.
Listen to this special episode where @lisadfit4life, nutrition coach and fellow podcaster, shared her experience as a Latina, born and raised in the USA. Her experience with latinidad and culture as a daughter of immigrants and now as a mom.
We talk about the challenges of language and identity. The shame of a teenager growing up speaking Spanish or even listening to their parent's accent. And overcoming those issues and how to connect and feel proud of your roots.
Lisa also talks about her wonderful podcast @notyouraveragerunnermotherpod where she empowers women in their journey. Check it out!
**Spoiler Alert** You don’t need to speak Spanish to be Latina.

Ok ok escuchen bien.

I met Justin a little after arriving to Seattle. He was also new in the city and that made us connect really quick. He was my first friend that was originally from the USA! Yes, I know! That’s something you get to think about when you are an immigrant. And yes, sometimes it is not that easy to make friends that are locals.
Justin has always supported me and been there for me, he is also a fan number 1 of this podcast so I wanted to bring him on a special episode so that we could talk about racism.
Justin shares his experience with police brutality. Racism in the city of Seattle. What being the one “black” friend feels like and his experience with racism when traveling abroad.
Justin also gave us amazing book recommendations that we can read to educate ourselves and learn more.
