This week on the podcast we sit down with Therapist Lillian Rishty and talk about postpartum depression. The episode is focused on our own personal journeys with PPD and how it impacted us. Lillian talks about what her experience was like after having her triplets and how she got help. Lillian also shares tips and information for those who may have suffered through it and how they can get help. 

Lillian is a psychotherapist and the owner of NYC Therapy Group, practicing in New York and New Jersey. She is trained in CBT, DBT and works with clients to identify patterns so they can develop a clearer understanding of life experiences and create productive behavior change.  Lillian primarily works with women in their 20s and 30s on anxiety disorders and life changes, including the adjustment to motherhood.

Eve comes on the show to talk to us about family inherited (intergenerational trauma) and childhood trauma. We discuss what family inherited trauma is, how it differs from childhood trauma and how the symptoms and effects of both show up in our lives as we navigate with different situations we are presented with. We discuss this especially in terms of how the trauma effects our relationships with our partners and look at examples of how to navigate this aspect. We also talk about how to start healing from it.
