In this episode of Moms and Martinis, Shereece and Desi join me to discuss our experience with domestic violence. We discuss the six types of abuse - physical, sexual, verbal/emotional, mental/psychological, financial/economic, and cultural/identity. We answer the tough questions about why we stayed, why we returned, share if we ignored the signs, and provide advice to women who are looking for love after being in an abusive relationship.
An abusive relationship can include any or all of these types of behaviors, sustained over a period of time and often escalating. If you or anyone you know is a victim of abuse and want to talk, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1-800-799-7233, or if you're unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522. You are not alone.

Shape your future by responding to the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail.
Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. The results determine how many seats in Congress each state gets. It's mandated by the U.S. Constitution in Article 1, Section 2: The U.S. has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.
