Falling pregnant can be a time of great excitement and anticipation but, of course, things don’t always go according to plan.  

Up to 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage before 20 weeks, with parents then having to navigate a new reality, far from what they hoped for. 

Early pregnancy loss support charity, Pink Elephants surveyed Australian women about what they needed most after having a miscarriage. Many said they had trouble accessing support services and more than half wanted to be able to talk to other women who had been through the same experience. 

Shevonne Hunt sits down with Amanda Tipping, co-lead of Pink Elephants and Sarah Hatherell, who has been through a miscarriage about the impact of early pregnancy loss and the help that is at hand.
