A majority of Canadians would like the Prime Minister’s official residence, 24 Sussex Drive, repaired and restored.

61% would support its renovation, according to a poll by DART & Maru/Blue Voice Canada, undertaken for Sun News/Postmedia.

Father of B.C. murder suspect fighting to see video taken before son’s death

Alan Schmegelsky's lawyer is fighting for him to be allowed to see a video his son took before he died. 

Sarah Leamon says police have not let Bryer Schmegelsky's dad see what she says is his son's last will and testament. Leamon says she has reason to be believe Bryer's mother has received information of the contents of the video.

Alan Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod are suspected of killing three people in northern BC in the middle of July, and then dying by suicide in northern Manitoba almost two weeks later.

Federal government unlikely to legalize pot gummies and other edibles that could appeal to kids

Edibles and other cannabis products are set to become legal across Canada on October 17, a year to the day after loose-leaf cannabis was legalized.

But if you’re thinking you’ll see gummies on the shelves, hold your horses. Despite the fact it’s the most popular edible - according to a survey by Deloitte - they’re probably not going to be legal, because of the federal government’s concerns that they’re too attractive to children.

Canada offers $15M to fight wildfires ravaging the Amazon rainforest

The G7 has wrapped up in France, where among tensions and conflict leaders say there was still common ground. Abigail Bimman reports from France.

As Abigail mentioned, Canada is offering 15-million dollars in funding to help fight the wildfires currently ravaging the Amazon.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says it’s urgent that action is taken now to protect the rainforest.

Also in his speech, Trudeau covered a number of other topics. He reiterated his stance that Russia would not be welcomed back into the G7 by Canada.

The federal Liberal government has launched "Choose Forward" as their election campaign slogan. 

The official campaign theme is stamped on a series of national ads featuring Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
