Joe & Adam dive head first into the 2003 adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel Mystic River and ponder the journeyman status of Eastwood, not before they get waylaid by an apology to Bradley Cooper, and hugely sidetracked by a thick slice of Oscar chat.

Send us your emails to [email protected], any subject welcome, but naming what cheese is which director/actor would be best, also flagging up mistakes we’ve made, plus any suggestions for Movies We Forgot We Forgot are always welcome.
Also, follow Adam on Letterboxd @errorofways, if that's your tempo.

Your hosts dig into Jerry Bruckheimer's canon, he produced this 2004 flick, directed by journeyman Antoine Fuqua. They talk the appeal of Clive Owen, gush over Ray Winstone and generally tear this wet paper bag of a film to shreds.

Joe & Adam dig into the Rated R, superhero-mega success Logan from 2017. Which cool products were placed in this movie? Is Marvel a genre (they know it’s a Fox flick but are happy to conflate the two)? Also, off the beaten track, Joe wonders if movie songs can transcend their cinematic confines. All of this and more in today's podcast.

Joe & Adam dig into Half Nelson, the critical darling from 2006 directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and starring a young Gosling. They talk white saviours, and generally struggle to get a handle on what the film is actually about. There is a fun Gosling Game to be played though.

Joe & Adam reconnect with the stunning 2007 flick, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, directed by Julian Schnabel. They thought they’d seen it, but only their younger selves had really. They’re older now, and the rewatch hits harder than they could have imagined - particularly when it comes to ‘dad’ chat.

It’s the Goblet of Fire problem all over again in this 2003 spy thriller flick from director Roger Donaldson. Joe & Adam wilfully ignore this blandest of bores and get waylaid by cinema ticket stub collections and ‘going to the movies’ by way of having a personality.

The Ninth Gate (1999), directed by Roman Polanski, is described as a horror-thriller (despite not being scary nor exciting). It has three spooky tomes though and a great game of spot the difference. Depp stars as the laconic book detective embroiled in the satanic silliness, with Emmanuelle Seigner as the femme fatale.
Joe & Adam discuss the film, story structure and the great soundtrack… and as an end of episode treat, some other films they've seen recently, including Oppenheimer and Memento.

The eminent director of Gladiator tries his hand at more historical epicness, this time in more unwiedly fashion… but boy, what a cast. What. A. Cast.

Joe & Adam chew over the 2005 adventure flick, its insensitivities, its silliness and its cast… did we mention the cast?

Welcome to a non-canon MYFYF Special Episode. The Charity Shop Special special episode to be exact.

Joe & Adam let the Charity Shop Gods reveal/decide/imply the film of choice here… and alas, they delivered the 2003 ‘comedy’ Anger Management, directed by Peter Segal.

The chaps get tied up with how to pronounce Sandler and the filmographies of both. And more. So much more.

Michel Gondry writes and directs this 2006 film, starring Gael García Bernal & Charlotte Gainsbourg. Joe & Adam discuss Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, people's responses to the subconscious, and film critics. Plus other stuff, I can't remember.
