April 04, 2019 S4 E50: Yes I'm Back!!
In Episode 50 a landmark for me personally I return to Podcasting after a break.
In truth I needed the break as I just had got into a rut and was churning out episodes for the sake of it, although some would say you should just keep on producing I have found that the break has done me good and I'm back on my terms talking about what I want to talk about. The issues that affect me personally both inside and outside of education.
I'm also hopeful that these new episodes will help me cross the line of firstly 1,000 plays and secondly the production of 100 Episodes.
The new content will maybe lead to an increased audience. Some of that is personal and some of it is driven by that need within us for some form of public acknowledgement.
In this episode I discuss the anchor.fm dashboard and how the analytics on it have helped me in my thoughts as to what direction I want this latest run of the podcast to take.

Hi Everyone: In this episode I discuss:
Half Term yes it is eventually upon us and as usual the last week has seemed like a month!
I have had a load of meetings this week where everyone seems to want to sort lots of things out with a quick fix 3 days before the holidays.
Currently I have not been on Blogger for some while as I have explored other mediums for output of my written material but this has proved more difficult than it should have been and I also quite like the statistical follow up on blogger that helps inform me of the audience I'm reaching, other packages either haven't got this facility or look for a premium subscription to access it. So I discuss this and also look at my options going forward for this output.
Half term for me is realistically going to involve a tidy up of all my online presences. I tend to experiment quite a bit with social media and also different online packages and applications and this can lead to an enormous 'clutter' around my core delivery mediums.
I have always been comfortable on Twitter and I have continued with my podcast output using anchor.fm as my core means of delivery for all recording, production and publishing. However, being the tinkering type I get distracted and this has happened mostly around my website and blog delivery mechanisms so the focus over half term is to streamline the whole operation.
I am exploring the possibility of purchasing a Chromebook and this would mean that I would concentrate my output through Google and its related software especially its own Office apps ie. Docs, Slides etc. Currently, I have quite a bulky laptop that I use for Outreach sessions and I use Google Drive to store my own school documents anyway so the move to a lighter more up to date option with a quick start up time and access to all my documents etc. is really a no brainer.
I have also looked into Apple products and while I still find the iPad v useful I can't justify the outlay for even a reconditioned MacBook and if I did go that route the outlay would end up greater than that currently for a brand new Chromebook!
I'm also monitoring the merits or otherwise of my use of Instagram and of course my pet hate Facebook! and I'm watching closely developments around the recent Spotify purchase of anchor.fm and implications for my own use of it as the platform for my podcast.

February 12, 2019 S4-E48 Talking To Teachers about #Behaviour and #Emotional #Support for #Children in their #Schools
In this episode, I talk to a group of teachers about my podcast especially the Behaviour Support segments and the fact that these are designed to give indicators and practical suggestions as a generic resource for teachers and classroom assistants who are involved with children who are experiencing Emotional and Behavioural difficulties.
This was during a school based session and even includes 'the school bell!'.
I talk about the thinking behind the podcast and how I'm hoping that the podcast episodes are reflective of my own experiences and knowledge base and that through talking about different events and how I have to deal with them that this then will act as some kind of guidance on both what works and on occasions what doesn't!

February 11, 2019 S4-E47 Saturday Sport - #UnitedWin #IrelandWin #KerryvDublin #TVGolf
I couldn't miss commenting on a great Saturday of Sport, despite not getting to play golf due to #StormErik I ended up witnessing a great Saturday of Sport on the TV.
First up Manchester United, a comprehensive 3-0 away win at Fulham in the Premier league proved enough to secure 4th place after Chelsea were mauled 6-0 by Manchester City on Sunday afternoon!
Then straight over to the rugby where ireland secured their first win of the #6Nations2019 over Scotland at Murrayfield. Despite winning the failure to secure the bonus point could prove costly and they will be glad of the break week next weekend and their first game back in a fortnight is against Italy so they will be able to regroup physically and tactically.
The in the evening a cracking game of gaelic football live from Killarney as Kerry overcame the Mighty Dubs in an absolute belter that was a much needed great advertisement for the game and a pointer as to how it should be played.
Finally, golf from Pebble Beach where weather interruptions and USA broadcasting times combined to make it late night rather than late evening viewing!!

In this Episode ; the start of Series 4, I take a look at 'Choosing Time' otherwise known as 'Golden Time or simply 'Reward Time' depending on the school that it is being used in.
I look at how I think it should be used and some 'golden rules' that I would apply to its use within a classroom and indeed the wider school environment.
As I point out in the Podcast I work with individual schools regarding the context within their own school and appropriate time slots and also activities that can be made available for this valuable part of the social skills curriculum that is being ignored in many schools.

February 06, 2019 S3-E45 #Podcast Direction for Series 4
In the latest episode of GPK Daily I document a day as I work in different schools and I also talk about some of the changes that I am looking to make for Series 4.
Some of these will see a return to a more pure documenting experience over the next month as I attempt to find my best method of passing on my information to teachers and those in education while also posting some recreational content around sporting and news events.
I feel that I am gaining greater traction as I post more content and that this is the best way forward regarding getting my message 'out there' I have included links to other output mediums but I will be directing everything at the podcast over the next month and assessing the outcomes over my Mid-Term Break at the end of February.

I this episode I track a typical day with a look at work I'm doing with individuals and groups of children. I also set out an extra evenings twilight session and how it links to my support work and I look at the thinking behind the support work and the ultimate ends that we try to achieve with each individual.
