Kriss and Dpalm are back with part 2 of their Chris Claremont X-Men series. For this episode we pick up right after the end of the Dark Phoenix saga with issue 139 and go all the way through the iconic issue 200. The key to this portion of the run is recognizing that this is where most of the most notable qualities of the characters we love come from. From the friendship between Nightcrawler & Wolverine to Ororo's mothering of Kitty Pryde and leadership of the entire X-Men team. Really this arc is about the youngest X-Man, Kitty Pryde, and her mentor/mother figure Ororo. This arc of the X-Men really shows how much Claremont pushed the idea of female characters having their own agency, power and arcs. This is also when he takes back Carol Danvers and literally erases her past to build her back up again (Listen to our Captain Marvel Part 2 episode for more on this).

This is part of the arc that really elevates the X-Men into the characters we know and love today.

Issues:

* Days of Future Past

* Issues 141 & 142

* Issue 150 - Magneto sinks the Leningrad

* Issue #155 - First appearance of The Brood

* Brood Saga

* Issue 161 - 166

* First Appearance of Madelyne Pryor - Issue 168

* Storm vs Callisto - Issue 170

* Juggernaut vs Colossus fight - Issue 183

* Trial of Magneto - Issue #200

You'll want to check out the following older character corners as well:

* Cyclops and Havok

* Kitty Pryde & Colossus

* Wolverine

We're also going to take another detour and cover the X-Men spin-off, New Mutants, which Claremont begins writing during this part of his X-Men run as well. So stay tuned.

Well, I've been more wrong in my life, but I had no idea I would love a 6pm start to NBA Free Agency so much! I mean, I wasn't nearly as wrong as Knicks fans or anyone cheering against Megan Rapinoe, but I was pretty wrong. All this and more on a late night edition of UDPod.

Kriss and Dpalm are joined by Karen and Rod from The Black Guy Who Tips to review episode 7 of season 6 of Agents of SHIELD: Toldja. We've reached the middle of the season and things are now starting to come together. Sarge, aka Not-Our-Coulson proves he has the upper hand on Mack and the rest of SHIELD. Fitz and Simmons are finally on their way home. And we figure out what the perfect amount of Deke is. Oh and Daisy says what we're all thinking: Mack and YoYo need to get their shit together and get back together.

Kriss, Ro, Brandon and Joi review the last film in Marvel Studio's Phase 3 and the second film they've done for Sony, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Honestly at this point it just isn't fair what Marvel Studios is doing. Far From Home is the perfect end to Phase 3 and does a great job of showing the world moving forward after the events of Endgame while also laying the ground work for the future of Phase 4 (make sure you stay for BOTH end credit scenes).

Kriss, Ro and Brandon are joined by Joi to discuss and review, Yesterday. Before we get into the review Brandon has a short rant about his experience getting into the screener. But after that we talk about what we thought about the film. Overall, the film is fine and enjoyable but the third act is a bit of a let down. Kriss isn't a fan of these kinds of movies in general but it's not necessarily a bad film. Just turned annoyingly simplistic at the end.

Friday isn't typically a pod-day, but when Vince McMahon breaks out the DeLorean gimmick, I have to jump in front of a microphone to talk it out with fellow mark, Sam Franco. Before we head back to the past, we explore the insanely 2019 twitter beef and the insanely 1995 hiring decisions.

Sorry for the delay but the Insanity Check is back this week. I'd like to have some solid excuse as to why I didn't do a show last week but the simple answer is: The world sucks and it was nice to just take a break from it all. But I'm back. And joining me this week is the voice you hear first on any episode of the Insanity Check: Jaxx. We shoot the shit on a wide variety of topics from the lack of black people in Portland, the police suck and how Trump and the DOJ are doing their damndest to Make America Deplorable Again. Welcome back to me.

Topics:

* There are No Black People in Portland

* Lowering the Standards to be a Police Officer...what could go wrong?

* So we're not using deodorant now?

* Dwyane Wade supporting his son at Pride is great

* Concentration Camps Back? DOJ argues toothpaste, toothbushes & soap aren't necessary for "safe and sanitary" conditions

* No seriously...Trump voters are deplorable

* Does it really matter what we call them if we can all agree they're immoral?

* Tim Scott continues to be the idiot black person for the GOP

* Maybe we don't need Freedom of Speech

* Great Moments in White Privilege

* White supremacist from the Charlottesville attack wants mercy

A Fitz Simmons episode? Oh you know things are about to get crazy. This episode turns into one big couples therapy session and it's glorious. It also solidifies what we've been saying for the longest time: This show handles it's characters so well that it can do an episode like this and makes it so good. We're reminded just how far Fitz and Simmons have come as individuals and why they work so well together. They've been through so much trauma and yet they remain "unstoppable" together. Now...will the show rip our hearts out by the end? Probably. No one is safe on this show. But we know whatever happens, this show will have earned it.

Ro, Brandon and Kriss...well at least Ro and Brandon are here to review Toy Story 4. This is a franchise that has gone on for 2 decades and has never failed to deliver. It's not just a great film but a great way to wrap up the story that's been going on for this long and the franchise. There's some really great casting for voice work and something for everyone. From the adults that have been with this franchise since Toy Story 1 to kids who are just experiencing it for the first time. This is it.

Also this film is a pretty good example of quality matters when it comes to continuing on a franchise. Listen as the crew gives their take on this film and why it's the official start of the June movies.
