"God can speak to us directly. Everyday. Yesterday we talked about the importance of a daily prayer routine. Today this verse confirms that he is strengthening us and protecting us daily. 

 

So what are you facing today? Is it another day of battling your food habits? Is it another day of living in a home with an addict? Is it another day of anxiety or depression? Is it another day at a job that makes you unhappy? Is it a sickness in your body? What is it? I may not know, I have no idea what your personal battles look like? I know they exist. But God knows exactly what it is you wake up to each day. 

 

Can I promise you something? He is faithful. He will give you the strength for yet another day. He will protect you from anything that was made to harm you."

"A skin care routine is vital for the appearance of your skin, but nothing compares to what a daily prayer routine can do for your soul. 

 

I've found in the last few months that when we commit to praying daily, things change. Your goals in life change, and I think it's because they start to align closer to God's plan for your life. 

 

Your relationships with others change. 

 

Your view towards life changes. 

 

You are able to go through valleys differently. You grieve, but with a sense of underlying joy that our loved ones are dancing with Jesus. 

 

You are able to celebrate on the mountain tops with a sense of humility and peace. 

 

You transform into a different person."

"This was a long story just to remind you to ask for help. When you need help on a project ask for counsel. We were not made to do this life alone. 

 

It was also a long story to show you that, even if you don't think there is a way, there is always a way. Prior to this desk, my previous layout made way for very little walking space and now someway somehow I have even more walking space and we were able to fit the desk comfortably. 

 

That goes to show you the power of team work. It shows you that when you involve others into your plans, they help elevate you. I once heard my pastor say, a plan without community is just a vision. 

 

You need people in your life and what better way to surround yourself with fresh opinions from others than on a weekday"

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Proverbs 28:25 which says "The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the LORD will prosper."

"It's human nature to lean towards the flesh. We can become greedy when we are looking to advance in our careers and finances. We can become greedy with our God-given gifts. We can become greedy with our skills. When we take the control out of Gods hands and we place it in ours, conflict will arise. 

 

We should be willing to help others. Don't hold onto your treasure and keep it to yourself. Haven't you ever studied the dead sea? The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee are connected by the Jordan. Life prospers at Galilee, but on the other hand the Dead Sea has been given its nickname because of the amount of salt it has. Nothing live can live there. Everything around it is engulfed by the salt. So how do two lakes with the same flow of water have two very different outcomes? The Dead Sea takes in the water and there is no where for it to release what it's been given. It keeps it for itself where as on the other hand, Galilee redistributes the water back to the Jordan river. 

 

The best part about this? The Jordan river was where Jesus was baptized. He is the water that can give us life. We prosper because of Him."

"Everyday I pray that my life be lived according to His will, not mine. But how do I know I am doing so? Well I take it to the word of God, to see what He wants us to do. 

 

He wants us to serve others. (Mark 9:35)

He wants us to extend Grace towards others. (Titus 2:11)

He wants us to walk in harmony and in peace with those around us. (Psalm 29:11)

He wants us to love so fiercely, that others see Him in us. (Romans 13:8)

He wants us to spread the love of the Gospel. (Isiah 55:11)

 

So as you go about your day today, pray that the people you are surrounded with, the job you are serving, the words you are speaking, the posts you are sharing, the actions you are taking align with the will of God and not for personal gain."

I know I have listeners from around the world, and we all speak different languages, but wisdom is a universal language. Wisdom is something I have been heavily praying for these days. I have been asking God day in and day out to direct me and speak to me, to show me exactly what He wants me to see. 

 

We sometimes forget there is no one wiser than God. Stop looking to society for answers that can be found deep within yourself. The Holy Spirit resides in you. Look to Him for the answers you are seeking"

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read over Matthew 6:25-26 which says "25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

"...Look at the birds. They do not sow or reap, yet God feeds them. Meaning they are not working, planting seeds, and waiting for a harvest yet they are always fed. 

I know we are all working. We are dreaming of the home we want to purchase or the apartment overlooking the city. We all have our dream car, or dream wardrobe. We want financial freedom and we want to enjoy this life by traveling. Today you are going to go to work and you are going to work hard to bring home a paycheck to buy food and pay for the roof over your head. 

But this verse is a friendly reminder that life is so much more than this. Is not life more than food and the clothes you wear? 

Life is about loving and serving one another. It's what yesterday's prayer was. I know anxiety can hit at any moment. You might not know when your next paycheck will come. Maybe you've been furloughed and you don't know when you will be asked to return to work. This verse serves as a reminder that God has you in the palm of his hand..."

"Rest is so vital. So why is it so hard for us to take a break? 

I think some of us have an innate trait that doesn't want help from others, including God. We work three times as hard instead of asking others for help. I think that derives from the fear of failure. 

How many of us know we can't be “on” at all times. We need to rest and recharge. 

 This verse is telling us that God will strengthen us. He will help us. Through it all. 

 So give this day to Him, give this weekend to Him.  Let me recharge you. Let Him strengthen you. He can do more in 6 days than you can do in 7."

If you are in a season now, and you don't see where you could possibly have faith, take my word for it. Push through. God can do immeasurably more than you can ever think or imagine. My testimony is living proof. 

 As you go about your day today, hold on to the last bit of this passage: Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy."
