Maslow's hierarchy of needs focuses on human developmental psychology which is personal growth.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often portrayed in the shape of a pyramid with the largest, most fundamental needs at the bottom and the need for self-actualization at the top.
In our episode today we are only going to focus on the "basic needs" so the bottom of the pyramid.
1 - Physiological needs: food, water, shelter, sleep, clothing, ect. To pursue any other motivation in life, your physiological needs must be met first.
2 - Safety needs: security and safety. Personal security, employment, resources, health, property (land, house, home etc.) If a person does not feel safe in an environment, they will seek safety before attempting to meet any higher level of survival.
