This month, Alderwood Community Church is celebrating its 100th birthday! Pastor Wyatt and Pastor Steve reflect on how faithful God has been with Alderwood in the past 100 years, and how God continues to work in and through our church. But first! It's election season, which means we have to talk a little bit about the election. We are reminded that through it all, our hope is in King Jesus. God is still on the throne.

"But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this gift of giving. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich."
2 Corinthians 8:7-9 NIV
Pastor Wyatt Martin is joined by Arie Mahler, the director of our Compassion Center here at Alderwood Community Church, as we discuss local poverty and privilege.
"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter--
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
Isaiah 58:6-7
Pastor Wyatt Martin is joined by Lead Pastor Brad McConnaughey as we take a first look at an upcoming sermon in our new series, "JUSTICE".
