Navigating the College Bound Journey: Tips for On-Time Completion

Listen Later

We’re halfway through the academic year! That means some college-bound students and their families may feel like they’ve fallen a bit behind with their college prep. However, others might be diligently sticking to a tight timeline. Which one are you? Regardless of where you are in the process, maintaining the right approach can be key as you move forward. In this episode, I’ll give you tips for catching up, keeping up, and inspiration so that you can make timely progress with your goals and deadlines.

EPISODE NOTES

Your dreams can be an amazing source of motivation. By harnessing their power, you can be propelled down the path to accomplishing your goals. However, it’s important to not let your expectations become too rigid. Not only does life not always go according to plan, but sometimes being flexible can actually be beneficial for you and your college-bound student in the long run. That’s why approaching the college journey with an open mind is going to be key.

You never want to let your idea of what should happen to get in the way of what could happen. That means you should hold your expectations loosely and be open to changing your plan or even your goals for what comes after graduation as you learn along the way. Of course, some things, like budgets and application deadlines, are best approached firmly. So it’s essential to know when to be open-minded and when to be more rigid - I’ll give you some guidance in this episode.

College-bound conversations and work sessions are great tools to help you navigate this tricky process of preparing for higher education. Holding space to engage with your planning every week makes it easier to stay on track and keep your expectations in check. This is also a great strategy if you’re behind on your college prep because it can help you catch up and feel confident in the process. Learn from one of my client’s success stories in this episode and you’ll leave inspired!
