Following a hard-fought victory over Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland, the Iowa State Cyclones have emerged as legitimate contenders for the Big 12 Championship. While some observers remain skeptical, the team's performance in its season opener demonstrated a level of execution in key areas that is necessary for a championship run. The win was not a fluke, but rather a testament to the Cyclones' strengths, particularly their commanding play at quarterback, in the backfield, and along the defensive line.

The quarterback, Rocco Becht, was a model of poise under pressure, making crucial throws and demonstrating a clutch rushing ability to extend drives and score touchdowns. Complementing his effort, the running back group, led by Carson Hansen, proved to be a powerful and physical force.
