These are statements that you would not expect to hear from a professional athlete but that's exactly what New England Patriot Joejuan Williams had to say in a recent article.
How did he build these mindsets about money? That's where Greg Carson, a personal finance teacher at Father Ryan High School (Nashville, TN), comes in. According to Williams, Carson's class "completely changed my life." In this NGPF podcast, Greg will share the philosophy behind his class, his favorite activities with his students and what he remembers about Joejuan as a student in his class. Enjoy!
NGPF Fellow Vincent Branch has a passion for financial education that became apparent the first time we met at the NGPF Summer Institute earlier this year. As a financial advisor in an earlier life, he saw the tactics used to "sell" financial products and realized how few people knew the right questions to ask. He's preparing his students to be that skeptical consumer as a personal finance teacher at Washington High School (Houston, TX). In this podcast, Vincent will discuss why he cares so much about finance education, share some of his favorite in-class activities and tell his favorite finance story. Enjoy!
In this NGPF podcast, Luis discusses the trials and tribulations that accompany the start-up world. He discusses the arc of his current venture, Remoov (my investment fund is a small investor), from the conception of the idea to getting that early traction to raising money from investors. Listen to this podcast and you will get a peek behind the curtain to see the grit and persistence required to succeed as an entrepreneur. Enjoy!

Each shared what they learned from paying PAYBACK, how it has impacted their college plans. Some passionately described the importance taking a personal finance course. You will discover that this group's talents extend beyond putting pen to paper for their essays and includes strong public speaking skills too.

In 1973, Prof. Burton Malkiel's Random Walk Down Wall Street hit the bookshelves and the world of investing would never be the same again. Not only did Prof. Malkiel question the conventional wisdom that the "smart Wall Street money" knew best but he also made a revolutionary suggestion: give individual investors an opportunity to "buy the market." The foundation for the index fund revolution that followed had been laid and Prof. Malkiel would play a leading role. In this NGPF podcast, he summarizes the wisdom of index fund investing and its advantages for the individual investor. He also shares his experiences as a director at Vanguard in its formative years, recalls his favorite Jack Bogle stories and describes the next investing revolution. Enjoy!
