i feel like once upon a time or even now, we’ve wanted to be apart of a certain aesthetic for a long time. i’ve went through so many aesthetics throughout my life. i started out with preppy, then moved to sporty, back to preppy, to extreme preppy, to not having a style, to e- boy, to beachy, and then back to preppy. i would say right now i’m definitely more of a minimalist mainly because i don’t know what my style is right now and i’m still trying to figure it out. this got me thinking about different aesthetics and why people are so obsessed with them and i am guilty of being like this in the past. i also saw a couple instagram posts that talk about aesthetics which inspired this episode. it’s always been such a mystery to me about why people go to such extreme lengths to be apart of a certain aesthetic, but i get it now. people want to feel like they belong and express themselves in other ways they can’t. in this episode i talk about why aesthetics are so popular, how they can become toxic, how nothing is truly “trendy” anymore, and how solely basing your identity off of an aesthetic is a terrible idea. love you and hope you enjoy.
