"I have a dating dilemma. I just ended my 17-year marriage and have started dating again. I met a great guy who my 13-year-old daughter can't stand. She's going through the start of her terrible teen years and hates everybody, not to mention she has a terrible attitude. She's asked me not to date my new guy. I'm torn about what to do. It's hard to meet a great guy so I would hate to break up with him. On the other hand, I want to respect my daughter's wishes. I'm thinking maybe it's time I do something for myself. Is having your child not like a potential partner a reason not to date them?"
