"I received an email recently from my daughter’s grandfather (her dad’s father) wanting me to call. He disappeared 10 years ago after he remarried without a single phone call, text, email, letter, bday card, Xmas, holiday anything to her. Now he has cancer and is not expected to live long. I sat with my daughter (12 yrs old) and had a conversation that this may be the only time to speak to him. She asked me “do I have too?” Now that he’s on his death bed, he wants to come into my life?”. After that I was stumped. She is an amazing young lady that he missed over a decade on. Should I call him? Or leave it as missed opportunity on his part?"
