"My husband and I went out on a date for the first time in a year on Saturday night. We've been busy taking care of our four children so we haven't had time to go out. We went to our favorite Italian restaurant and we're stunned when we got our bill. They charged us for extra marinara sauce and bread. My husband argued for several minutes before we left without leaving a tip. I think restaurants shouldn't charge extra when it comes to sauce and bread. They've raised their prices which we've agreed to pay. Their servers want larger tips so we leave more money. The least they can do is not be so petty. The manager disagreed. He says they charge extra because everything costs more. What are your thoughts on this? Is it wrong for restaurants to charge for a small cup of sauce and petite loaf of bread? I'm sure other people have experienced this as well. Were we in the wrong for complaining or were they in the wrong for charging us?"
