Brian Dufek made a return visit to the studio for this episode, but this time around, he had a lot of insight into the week that was at ICAST, THE fishing gear trade show to end all trade shows. Brian works for Shimano, and he had lots of news about some great new Shimano products. If you’re looking for some reel upgrades, you don’t want to miss Brian’s rundown!
Brian wasn’t the only one at ICAST – it seems Jeff had a connection with Hagan Coastal Outfitters (wink-wink), so he was able to sneak in and get his first peak at the inner workings of the industry…and he also got to hang out with some industry superstars, like Mr. Bill Dance!
ICAST wasn’t the only item on the agenda, though. Brian also provided the guys a very interesting – and concerning – perspective on product manufacturing and supply…where it was, where it is, and how long before things get back to normal.
Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: Add QuikClot Advanced Clotting Gauze to the first aid kit we discussed last weekend. Stops the bleeding in a real hurry.
And if that wasn’t enough, here’s a BONUS L.V. Hiers gear tip: Danco Sports and revealed their primo product at ICAST – the “Premio Al” pliers weigh 3.2 oz with 500 lbs of crimping force. They can be yours for just $699. Lifetime warranty comes with it!
Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: The winds this weekend are going to blow out of the Northeast! Anytime you get a Northeast wind this time of year it will have the bait moving around the inlets for just a couple of days. Look for tarpon, reds, jacks and sharks all to be feeding around the inlets this weekend!
Here’s your Kirbyco Builders Inc. cooking tip of the week: Watch the Olympics this weekend and support ‘local’ by ordering food from our favorites! Angie’s Subs Official Page, The Bearded Pig BBQ and Moe’s Southwest Grill!
