⭐⭐ Our Most Vulnerable Episode Yet | From Addiction To Fitness - Louis M Cormier | Running Journey #46
Today, we're joined by a very special guest, Louis M. Cormier, the author of "From Addiction To Fitness". After battling an alcohol addiction for years, Louis found purpose in exercising and solace on the Appalachian Trail. Louis always enjoyed the outdoors and being a volunteer firefighter. But he also liked to drink. Things got so bad he crashed his truck and even contemplated suicide. He had to be hospitalized and go through detox. He hit rock bottom. That's when Louis turned to fitness to keep his mind from booze. Starting with some 5k runs, Louis pushed himself further to 10k and then marathons. Always one to set a high bar, Louis signed up for an Ironman Triathlons despite not knowing how to swim. He learned to swim and finished the race. Louis was an incredible guest as he shows us the power of how addiction can be channeled and used to do great in the world and push your limits to better your life. Having battled with their own alcohol addiction then turning to fitness, Rob & Charlie deeply related to Louis' story which makes for a very vulnerable and engaging episode.
