Also, if your yard or your heart feels a little sad, growth comes slow, don't give up hope! Remember how far you've come. Spring will burst forth...it's coming! Trees can anchor us. Did you know what the Bible says about trees?

There will still be casualties in life. Trees do die and things don't work out but we can keep going. For things to grow, some things have to die. There are always more seeds. E.B. White's husband described a memory of her so well, "she was calming plotting the resurrection." It's never too late to plant the seeds and new things in our lives.

How much do you love coffee or wine? Lisa-Jo and Christie are having are riding the sluggard, struggle bus during Lent sometimes and they have helpful nuggets of truth to share with us.

In our self-care culture, it's easy to let our sinful nature take us right back to ourselves rather than the cross. There's a difference in self-care that's life giving for those around us and there's the self-care that gets crooked. We want more excuses to serve ourselves but then Lent is holding Lisa-Jo and Christie accountable in this season.

When you're feeling the "sandy gears of life" be curious and lean into Jesus. Sometimes clinging to something we want doesn't leave space for what can end up being so much better.

Object lesson today is we don't need to white knuckle life. Have you gotten something wrong this week?

Wherever you are in your life, we can all relate to the days when we can't move forward as planned. You think it's going to get nice and it doesn't. Can you believe what happened in Lisa-Jo's kitchen? Baking with love versus science makes for a funny contrast. A moment is supposed to be great and then it's not. Instead of holding on tight, maybe we need to let go.

Lent is a season where we recognize our own morality. Embrace that we don't just make mistakes each time but we sin. Jesus came while we were still sinners and He didn't wait for us to know we needed Him. We can trust the Rescuer and receive His freedom.

"How do you recognize "enough" when you have it?" In the second half of life Lisa-Jo and Christie ponder how we let go of the season of hunger to settle for what's right in front of us. This season is more settled with a deeper and targeted work without a hungry need to consume everything. It's good to get to a point you feel full and not push past it. There's an overflow in life. Being more settled is a relief and a strength. This episode will really give you peace, if you're in the second part of life and give you something to look forward to, if you're not quite there yet.
