What I have realized when it comes to stress is that the more education I can get around it, the better I can take a proactive role in my own health. The guest that we have on the show today is my doctor, Dr. Karrie Hohn. She has walked me through everything that I've been through with my gut and now we are working to better understand my stress and bring it back under control. I am excited to have her here to talk about stress because I know I am not the only one who struggles with it.
Dr. Catherine (Karrie) Hohn graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Mercy Hospital. After practicing community Family Medicine for 18 years, Dr. Hohn shifted the focus of her practice toward functional medicine. Dr. Hohn partners with patients to treat the underlying causes of disease and promotes wellness by addressing each individual patient's biology, genetics, and lifestyle factors that influence health and wellness. Dr. Hohn practices proactive, predictive, personalized medicine and encourages patients to take an active role in their own healthcare. She is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner.

The 80/20 philosophy is the nutrition philosophy that we use at fit-flavors as well as my life philosophy. I think it is the most sustainable philosophy when it comes to health and nutrition. On this episode I am breaking down the 80/20 philosophy to help you wrap your brain around it a little better and help you determine if it's something that could improve your life.

We all have our bucket of stress, but are our stress management techniques doing more harm than good? On this episode I am getting vulnerable and letting you in on my struggle with stress. I know sometimes when I open up and just share my struggles, they can be validating to some of you. Personally, I know when I hear other people's struggles, I too am validated. I hope this helps you next time you you are dealing with stress of your own.

I want to talk about excuses because I think sometimes they hold us back. And many people don't realize how much they can hold us back. There is a fine line between making an excuse and honoring yourself. When we can start to identify where those excuses are coming into our lives and what they are speaking over us, we can begin to stand against them and lean on what is true and what we desire.
