Our jobs are to raise respectful empathetic humans. It takes a village and some discipline to make this happen. However, is school paddling taking it too far. We discuss the reinstated paddling policy of a Georgia middle school and take callers to share their opinions.
Having the kids in school is terrific because it helps provide some order and structure to the day. However, how many times do the after school activities, lessons or tutoring amount to more than our kids can handle. When is enough enough or worse, when is it too much. We shared our thoughts on over or under-commiting our kids to activities and looked to some callers to share their experiences.
As moms we never stop worrying about school lunches, activities or forgetting the load in the washer for the 5th time today. We sometimes are too drained to take care of things in the bedroom and it can leave our spouses feeling a little neglected. We look at how to keep those sheets burning and how to make it through the "trenches parenting" phase. We take a caller that shares some experience and hope for the later stages of parenthood.
