Today I’m chatting with Kate Muldoon from Ladies with Tradies - a coaching business that helps tradie couples with the tools to stop shit hitting the fan and achieve their goals in love, life and business.
Through coaching, seminars and workshops, Ladies with Tradies offers holistic education, training and support to reduce regrets and stress in business.
We love what Kate’s doing with Ladies with Tradies, because more organised trade businesses don't only help the tradie but the person utilising the service, like us!
In this conversation, Kate gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how trade businesses often work (lots of time on the tools, very little time on the computer) and how she’s working to change this. Her concept - Good Bloke Syndrome (GDS) helps explain why it’s so common for your tradesperson to overpromise and underdeliver. Often, tradies want to do the best and please everyone, but this often leaves them falling short as they have unrealistic expectations of what can get done.
Kate shares her three top tips on how to manage the working relationship with tradies including checking out their reputation and financial management to ensure they’re trustworthy, establishing communication lines upfront and asking about the plans they put in place to ensure projects are completed.
In order for us to succeed in our projects, we need to have a great team, working relationships and clear expectations and certainty. Kate shines a light on the most common challenges we encounter working with tradies and how to navigate these. You’re going to love this one!
