fter years of training upward of 15-20 hours every week, MacInnis became a leading athlete for gymnastics on PEI, competing at his first Canada Winter Games in 2003 and moving forward to represent his province at 7 Canadian National Championships.
Viewed as βone of the strongest, fittest and most flexibleβ gymnasts in PEI history, MacInnis used these skills to earn a spot as the first PEI gymnast to ever compete in event finals on pommel horse at National Championships.
In 2011, MacInnis retired from competitive gymnastics and started coaching recreational gymnasts ranging in ages from 4-60 as well as competitive National level gymnasts.

I have broken 8 state records in the squat, bench, deadlift, and total. I will be heading to USAPL Junior Nationals in 2023.
As a college softball athlete on the Junior National Softball Team she traveled year round across the country to compete. When she tore her rotator cuff and labrum due to overuse and chronic malnutrition, I ended her career. It was a long and rough recovery- depression and the worsening of a pre-existing eating disorder.
She championed her pain β€οΈ and began competing in Strongman and opened a Strength Sports gym @stoneandsteelathletics Steel Athletics. Alongside owning the gym and coaching athletes, I am a Public Health Director at a local non-profit.
Now she encourages people I can to start lifting for fun and strength as opposed to trying to make themselves smaller.
