Our guest this hour is husband-and-wife Americana rock duo, The HawtThorns, an immediately loveable group whose smart twang, pop hooks, and feel-good vibes are alive like never before on their brand-new album, Tarot Cards and Shooting Stars, which is available this week via Mule Kick Records. The HawtThorns are KP and Johnny Hawthorn – both very well-respected artists and producers in their own right – KP having toured the country with Jaime Wyatt and others as a member of CALICO and co-founder of Mule Kick Records, and Jonny as a jack of all trades, most notably a lead guitarist with bands like Toad the Wet Sprocket and Everclear. Today, they chat with Amy Wright all about their careers and new life together in Nashville, and of course, their new album.

My Rock Moment chats with rock journalist Jude Warne. Jude wrote the authorized biography on the band America. We'll discuss their meteoric rise, the move from England to LA in the 70s and how they stay one of the most relevant classic rock bands today. Welcome back to "A Few More Minutes on The Steve Keene Art Book." We last spoke with Daniel Efram, the producer of the book. He explained how Keene was deeply embedded in the '90s music scene, first in Charlottesville, and later in New York. The eclectic music community embraced the artist, his vision and unique process. Efram has called him the most prolific painter in American history. He also pointed us to a unique testimonial by a well known voice in alternative music and a huge supporter of Keene’s and the book project. We’ll let Robert take it from here…

I will freely admit that I am not an authority on electronica. So I was a little nervous about having Rona Rougeheart from SINE on the podcast. She was very patient with me and walked me through how she got into music, who made the biggest impact on her, and some of the wildest things she’s experienced, like the time Peter Murphy missed a make-up gig in Orlando and she and some band members performed an impromptu Bauhaus jam for the audience. She discusses her relationship with Curse Mackey and the effect he’s had on her music, how she came up with the band name SINE, and the new music she’s working on. We also talk about her COVID musical coincidences, my son’s hair, and our mutual love of boxers. Check out her social media @ronarougeheart and @sinebandofficial. Pick up her album on eMERGENCY heARTS.

We take an early-2000s stroll down memory lane to talk about our memories connected to OutKast and their classic "Hey Ya" from "Speakerboxx/The Love Below," including that epic music video (who remembers Andre 3000 effortlessly playing every role?). We talk about OutKast's early days (including their surprising original name), the true sentiment behind "Hey Ya," and why OutKast deserves every one of their hard-earned awards.
On the way, we also chat about seeing our favs in concert, including one of Stephanie P.'s favs, Tool, and we shoutout reviews from Talk Tuners and fellow podcasts. Find us on the socials at @stephaniestalktunes! Episode sponsored by BetterHelp. Proud member of Pantheon Podcasts.

On the 28th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1984 legendary album by Prince and The Revolution, "Purple Rain."
This was Prince's 6th album and the soundtrack to his movie, "Purple Rain," which starred Prince and The Revolution, along with Apollonia and Morris Day & The Time.
Purple Rain made Prince a superstar. The album is 13X Platinum and has sold 25 million albums worldwide. The album went to #1 and stayed there for an astonishing 24 weeks! The album has made it on most all time lists and won a couple of Grammys.
The tracks include classics like, When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain and more. Prince's genius is on full display on this Soundtrack, whether it's his vocals, musicianship or production.
This was Tom's pick and a first album for ARC which may be considered Pop Music. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks, and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the cover against the previous 26 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew Episodes. They also review the movie which is an 80's landmark.
So put on your purple and Let's Go Crazy! Beep Beep!

It's mind-blowing to me (Luke) how many people have missed this album, including myself. I don't know if it's because of the album title, or if it's because it's one of his later records, but after spending close to a month listening, it's nothing but a tragedy that I, and so many others, slept on this one. The Monsanto Years rules.
We talk about the album title. We get into Promise of the Real. Tim Cackett (Town Meeting) hops on towards the end and chimes in for a few songs. Honestly I don't know what to write here other than go listen to this album. It's really really good.
