Meningococcal is a word that can strike fear in the heart of parents.  

The disease can have potentially devastating impacts and researchers are concerned about a rise in case numbers so far this year in Australia. 

They want parents to be on the lookout for early warning signs and to better understand how to prevent and treat meningococcal.
