Party Favorz — Dance Music Podcast

Circuit and 2000s dance classics — Classic Circuit Anthems Vol. 1: Ooh La La (2014) opens a four‑set celebration of the dramatic remixes and long‑form builds that defined late‑90s/early‑00s dancefloors. This episode is designed to showcase the peak‑and‑pause structures DJs used to create hands‑in‑the‑air moments, with a focus on club constructions and the producers who made them sing.

Highlights include era staples and reworks from Donna Summer, Madonna, Goldfrapp, and Lara Fabian alongside extended treatments by Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, and Peter Rauhofer. The notes call out Hex Hector’s approach — the patient build and release heard on his Waiting for Tonight remix — as emblematic of the circuit aesthetic that runs through the set. Expect long intros, theatrical drops, and mixes that let peaks breathe before they hit.

Ooh La La is where the four‑part ride begins: a concise, nostalgic two‑hour take on the remixes and remixers that kept club nights dramatic and unforgettable.

This is the EDM Sessions — June 2014 — a Club Fusion mix built to deliver big-room beats and festival-ready drops across a 1:26 runtime. The set was assembled as a straight-up EDM workout: it eases in before building into a heavier, peak-time second half stacked with club edits and high-energy remixes aimed at the dancefloor.

Highlights land on Tiësto’s remix of Matthew Koma’s “Wasted,” the Fedde Le Grand extended take on Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good,” and the Avicii & Chris Cox revamp of Daft Punk’s “Derezzed,” all chosen to punch up familiar songs for peak moments. Pop-leaning club reworks from Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding sit alongside floor-fillers like Ariana Grande & Iggy Azalea’s “Problem,” plus festival-ready cuts from Calvin Harris and R3hab, keeping momentum steady from midset into the final drop.

If you’re into radio-pop remixed for the club and a steady climb into peak-room energy, this edition delivers a focused, DJ-friendly ride.

This 2014 Disco entry in the Diva Hall of Fame series celebrates Loleatta Holloway and her outsized influence on dance music. The tribute mix traces her voice from Salsoul-era originals like Love Sensation and Dreamin' through the club reincarnations that kept her central to DJs and producers for decades. It foregrounds the Ride On Time controversy and the Dan Hartman connection as key moments in how Holloway’s performances were repurposed for house and pop audiences.

Across ninety-plus minutes the set favors standout remixes and club treatments over a straight hits run, assembling versions that span thunderous Thunderpuss-style builds to glossy Freemasons reworks and Hex Hector club edits. Highlights include memorable reconstructions by Junior’s Underworld and contemporary mashups that show why producers kept returning to her catalog. Curated for listeners who know the classics, the mix demonstrates how Holloway’s ad‑lib power and sampled phrases helped shape dance-floor history from disco into 90s house and beyond.
