  • Ep 29//Healing from Postpartum Depression and PTSD with Laura Pryor
I’m excited to share this episode with you as it’s on a topic that is near and dear to my heart. Today I talk to Laura Pryor about Postpartum Depression and PTSD/Birth Trauma. Laura is passionate about being a conscious parent and bringing awareness and connections to all relationships in her life. Her roles include mother, wife, daughter, and therapist. I just loved our conversation. I get vulnerable about some struggles and memories that come up during our interview of my first birth experience.

  • Ep 28//The Power of "No"
"No." This is word is one to get really good at saying during pregnancy. It's a complete sentence and should be respected with out having to explain why you're saying it. This is just apart of you having control over your birth choices. You have the inherent right to say "yes" or "no" to something.
No matter what setting you're choosing to birth in this word should be read to be confidently used. 'No’ means you have boundaries.
Today's episode will hopefully give you the confidence you need to know why you are saying "no" and encourage you to use it when needed.
If you have something that you’d like to hear on this show or have something you feel lead to share email me at [email protected]. I would love to take you questions and ideas and share them here on the show!

  • Ep 26//Labor Nutrition and the Natural Approach to PCOS
Dr. Jamie's journey to health and wellness may be different then some but yet similar to many. She struggled with PCOS, Hypothyroidism and Pre-diabetes as a busy mom to 3 girls 23 months apart and as a busy Doctor. These are common diagnosis these days but Dr. Jamie wanted to find the core issue and fix it instead of using a bandaid approach.
Dr Jaime Seeman is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist practicing in Omaha, Nebraska. Born and raised in the state she played collegiate softball for the Cornhuskers. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Sciences. She then went on to graduate medical school and completed her OBGYN residency at The University of Nebraska Medical Center. She currently is in private practice at Mid City OBGYN offering a full range of services in obstetrics, gynecology, robotic surgery and primary care. She is a fellow in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona School of Medicine. She is a board certified ketogenic nutrition specialist through The American Nutrition Association. She has a passion for fitness, preventative medicine and ketogenic therapy not only in her medical practice but in her own life. She is married to her husband Ben, a police Sargent and has three young daughters. Dr Seeman is currently appearing on NBC Titan Games with The Rock.
In today's episode we talk about the importance of building up your nutrition stores before pregnancy to help mom and baby have the building blocks they need for healthy development during pregnancy and a smooth labor process.
We also dive deep into natural ways to support your body if PCOS is in the picture.
I hope you get lots of hope from this episode! Our bodies are meant to heal!

  • Ep 24//Homebirth in Nebraska: The Right to a Midwife
You deserve choices. This is NOT just for women who want to birth at home this is for ALL women who believe that limiting options for women is NOT an option!
1% of the population choose to have a homebirth. There is no consistent law or ideas on how midwives should operate on a federal level. Each State has it's own idea and law either for or against who can attend. Today, I'm focusing on my home State of Nebraska. We have been in a fight, especially during this Corona season, for midwives to openly attend the many women looking to have a homebirth and avoid the hospital.
Listen in for some thoughts about homebirth and the direction I hope Nebraska will take.

Thank you Nebraska Birth Choice Advocates and the many other organizations and freedom fighters out there for all you have done and continue to do!

  • Ep 23//Birth Planning Session- "I just want to know I'm strong enough"
Karen is a first time mom who is planning to birth at a birth center. As is typical for a first time mom there are nerves and fear of the unknown. "Am I strong enough?" "Will I know when to go to the birth center?" "Will I know how to push?"

These are all very common fears and questions. I had the amazing opportunity to get to speak with Karen, hear her story and help her plan some ways to rewire her brain and reduce some fear of the unknown. Check out the episode now for a quick peak into this session!
