Perspective Points: A podcast that is intended to be an outlet for me (and you!) to share thoughts about mindfulness. Ranging from topics like personal experiences and the lessons I have learned form them to general discussion about one's purpose, I really want this to be a place where not only myself, but anyone can share their perspective on what is meaningful in their life.
On this week's episode of Perspective Points, I had the pleasure of talking with my good friend and fellow college student Ian Jensen. At just 20 years old, Ian has a contagious optimism in his pursuit of accomplishing his goals, from completing his first ultramarathon last month to preparing for his first Iron Man to being the most supportive friend he can be. Additionally, Ian and I spoke about the topic of struggles with one's mental health in their youth and the importance of acknowledging the support that surrounds you.

On this week's episode of Perspective Points, I go over the difference between being intentional and taking life too seriously. To me, being intentional is all about prioritizing your goals while still maintaining present in the everyday moments that surround you whereas taking life too seriously is centered around shutting out other important aspects of your life in order to focus on one thing. At the end of the day, as I always say, it's not that deep. We can still pursue our dreams and push ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves while acknowledging and appreciating every aspect of our lives.

Lauren is an inspiration to many as she embodies what it means to work for what you believe in throughout the many different aspects of her life including her marriage, her job as a nurse, and her performance as a CrossFit and endurance athlete. I had the honor of listening to Lauren share her story, talk about the importance of acknowledging one's mental health, and explain the importance of her next challenge, a 100 mile ultramarathon in October.
