For the first time in more than 700 days, the Philadelphia region got some significant snowfall. While many roads have gotten plowed, the same can't be said for sidewalks getting shoveled. According to the Philadelphia Streets Department, snow must be removed from sidewalks within six hours of the snowfall stopping. Minimum fines for unshoveled sidewalks are $50, but can reach up to $300 for each violation.
You've probably seen and maybe even smiled at the electronic messages like New Jersey's "Nice car. Did it come with turn signals?" or PennDOT's holiday safety message "Only Rudolph should drive lit." The feds are putting the brakes on funny messages like these on electronic highway signs.
