Aaron Nola deals as the Philadelphia Phillies take their series with the Chicago Cubs, 3-1 in 10 innings.  

 

Nola tossed seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing three hits, one walk with six strikes outs and throwing 99 pitches in the outing. It was by far his best start of the season.    

 

When Nola’s day was down, the bullpen triumvirate of Orion Kerkering, Jose Alvarado and Jordan Roman shut the door on the Cubs.  

 

The Phillies’ bats only mustered one run, through nine innings. That came on an RBI single by Trea Turner in the 3rd inning. Turner’s hit made sure a one-out triple by Bryson Stott didn’t go to waste.  

 

In the 10th, Alec Bohm smacked a sac-fly RBI to deep right field to bring home the go ahead run. Then later in the inning, Turner struck again, beating out a throw from third to first for an infield RBI single.
