The Philadelphia Phillies get a complete team victory as they beat the nationals 7-2 Wednesday night.

 

Philadelphia’s offense was powered by home runs from Kyle Schwarber, Max Kepler and J.T. Realmuto. Schwarber hit his 9th home run of the season in the first inning by way of a three-run home run that jump-started the Phillies offense. Kepler followed in the 6th inning with his third home run on the year and JT capped off the Phillies scoring with a solo home run,  his second coming in the 8th inning.

 

Cristopher Sanchez made his first start since exiting his start against the Mets back on April 22nd early with left forearm soreness. Sanchez tossed five innings of two-run baseball but needed 87 pitches to get through it.  

 

After Sanchez was done, the bullpen grouping of Jose Ruiz, Tanner Banks and Carlos Hernandez closed the door on the Nats. The three combined for four perfect innings of relief.  

 

Phillies go for the series sweep of the Nationals Thursday night at 6:45.
