So much for “Home Cookin” as the Philadelphia Phillies returned from their 2-4 road trip and fell to the San Francisco 10-4 at CBP.  

 

The Phillies offense actually came out swinging in the game, plating 3 runs in the first inning. Trea Turner with an RBI double followed by RBI single by Nick Castellanos and Max Kepler bringing in a run by beating a throw to first on a double play ball.  

 

Phillies starter Taijuan Walker entered play today not having allowed a run in his previous 10.2ip, but in the 2nd inning all that went out the window. Walker surrendered 6 runs in the inning. He could have limited the damage to just one run, but when Patrick Bailey hit a double-play ball back to Walker, the Phils’ pitcher fielded it and they threw well wide of Trea Turner at 2nd, sending the ball into center field.  

 

The Bullpen wasn’t sharp either as Tanner Banks threw two innings and allowed 2 runs, while Jose Ruiz gave up a run 2 runs on 3 hits in one inning of work.
