  • Tight and Pleasing: We Review the Reviews of "Creation in Death"
Here we go, everyone! A really bonkers "We Review the Reviews" for "Creation in Death!
It starts off with someone accusing Nora of using Eve to "Denegrate Being a Female" with this series.
Next we learn that Nora cannot put any emotions into her characters? Wut??
Then someone unironically talks about how disappointed they are that Nora doesn't know anything about the future while mentioning links are essentially just "Blackberries" not realizing that by 2022, the "Blackberry" is already not a thing.
Then we learn that Nora's attempts to make Eve "witty" fall short, and that Nora apparently doesn't understand the dynamics of a healthy marriage??
One reviewer isn't sexist, but doesn't like a character who's husband "looks over her like a mother," and is always PEPPING her up. They even PEPPED once during the case!!!
We found couple of reviewers who think what Eve did at the end was very inappropriate.
We found a reviewer who thinks what Eve did at the end was very inappropriate.bbing desire or her engorged nipples in the middle of my serial killer breakfast - yuck!"
But before we start to get too angry at these reviews, there are several really lovely ones, including the reviewer who thinks this book was "Fantastic! Incredible! Perfect!" and another who thinks "Ariel the Bad A baker needs a story!"
    Enjoy!!

  • Eat Your Boobies: We Review "Creation in Death" by J.D. Robb
This is a very procedure-heavy book! There is a LOT to talk about, including the very controversial (for some) ending. Because of this, we're bringing you a 2 and a half hour episode!
In this one, Eve finds herself faced with a murder that looks very familiar: the victim has been murdered using the exact M.O. as a killer they named "The Groom" that she and Feeney tried and failed to catch several years before. But this time around, the Groom is targeting women employed by Roarke, AND Eve knows that the Groom already has his next victim, and they will more than likely not save her. Because of this, everyone is on edge.
Eve is primary this time and puts together a huge taskforce made up of just about everyone in her bullpen, AND Roarke. Feeney at first gives Eve the "You're primary, so I follow your lead" speech, then later, yells at her for not informing him of a new theory about the Groom. Roarke is doing everything he can to help, including boring drone work, and spends a lot of time thinking about how badass his wife is. But then yells at her for not informing him that she wants to use herself as bait for the Groom. And we have just about had it with these dudes yelling at Eve for really no reason.
They are not fast enough to stop the murder of the next victim, Gia Rossi, but they are all determined that they will save the third victim, Ariel Greenfield. A breakthrough comes when Eve realizes that Trina had been scoped out by the Groom, and can describe him perfectly. Roarke finds a clue and gets a name for the Groom, then he finds the location of the killer's "workshop." Eve goes into the building on her own, and almost gets taken out by the Groom, but ends up taking the Groom out and saving Ariel Greenfield, who, in our opinion, is a ROCKSTAR.
The controversy comes at the end of the book when Eve gets The Groom, (Robert Lowell) into interview, and he confesses to everything while also telling Eve he has a terminal illness, so has a self termination order in, so he will have a quiet, peaceful and pain free death. Eve is not having that, so she asks Roarke to work his magic and make the self termination order go away. We think this is perfectly fine, but many fans feel that this is a step too far for Eve.

  • Can Cats Have Pancakes? We Discuss "In Death" Pets!
In this episode, Jen is under the weather, so it's just AJ and Tara as we discuss the many funny moments in the series that feature pets!
Obviously, this includes Galahad, who is clearly the star of this series, and he has so many great moments.
But also we talk about other people's pets. From Sampson, the huge gray dog that claimed Eve as his alpha and licked her eyeballs, to Amarylis Coltraine's droid cat that helped them solve her murder.

  • Trust Nora!! We Discuss Complainy Readers
In this episode, we discuss a recent post that Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb made on her blog, “Fall into the Story,” labeled “Trust Me.” In this blog post, she talks about readers who complain about things like their favorite characters not making an appearance in the last book, among other things. • There are NO Jetpacks!! We Review the Reviews of "Innocent in Death" by J.D. Robb
This episode goes off the rails before it even starts!
So many pretentious assholes in these reviews! Starting with:
"If you like relatively unimaginative stories peopled by exceedingly attractive, infallibly intelligent, tough female cops who are more than willing to have fairly graphic sex with their exceedingly handsome, infallibly intelligent, obscenely rich, bad-guy-turned-good-guy husbands in the middle of a case (both of which, incidentally, have their vulnerabilities), then this is a book you'd no doubt enjoy."
Well...yes...we do. We just don't like pretentious assholes who say things like "peopled by."
One reviewer has channeled Jen and basically says: "FUCK Roarke. FUCK this book."
They're not really wrong, but still.
There's even a pretentious review from someone that rented their audio CD at a Cracker Barrel. But, look, if you like Cracker Barrel, fine.
There are a bunch of people who thought the book was good and should have been given a 4 or 5 star rating, but then gave the book 2 or 3 stars just because of their own personal hangups.
Like how they were expecting Jetpacks, and there are NO JETPACKS! But also: RESPECT THE RANK, MOTHAFUCKAS!!!
    Very Frustrating.
But, we do have some really good reviews, some praise for Susan Ericksen, and a lot of really interesting discussions came out of all of this, and we can't be mad at that.
We did mention a TikTok with a creepy doll, so here you go:
