The final month of this series of the pod brings with it an important conversation: what is the future of equestrian sports?

With welfare concerns rightly prevalent, social license proving to have a loud voice and the rising costs of keeping horses and running equestrian businesses forcing many to make tough choices, is the future bleak for the sport we love?

We’ll be discussing this subject throughout May with a selection of fantastic guests, starting in today’s pod as we welcome the inimitable Pammy Hutton and Pippa El Derby to talk about the pressures on riding schools. With Talland School of Equitation perhaps the pinnacle of a top training centre, one may assume it’s a breeze to keep running. Far from it.
