Brandon Nimmo tied a New York Mets franchise record with a 9-RBI day, as the Mets salvaged a series split, defeating the Washington Nationals 19-5.

 It was about as perfect as response as you could get from the Mets, who didn't allow their Sunday troubles to carry over into Monday. Five scoreless innings from Griffin Canning setup the Mets for success and it was their 12 runs between the 6th and 8th innings that put the game out of reach.
