Pelvic floor disorders are common conditions experienced by women and include issues with bladder control, pelvic organ prolapse, and bowel control. Pregnancy and postpartum are a time when women may first experience pelvic floor conditions. For some these conditions resolve with time, but for others they persist. There are many available non-surgical and surgical treatment options available for symptomatic pelvic floor disorders. The first important step is asking the right questions of patients so that appropriate care can be provided.
