Powering Autonomous Cleaning Robots with Brain Corps' Jeff Heller

Listen Later

Brain Corp is the global leader helping to create the largest fleet of autonomous robots - over 16,000 units. Brain has products organized around Clean, Move, Sense and Flow categories. My guest is Jeff Heller.
Jeff has been with Brain Corp for more than two years, leading the Product Management Team and overseeing all robotic applications within the Clean, Move, Sense and Flow categories. Jeff’s first exposure to Robotics was in High School where he participated in the F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program, founded by Dean Kamen, who’s possibly best known for the Segway. This program involved partnering with local engineering firms to build task-oriented robots and competing against other high schools on a national level. Prior to joining Brain Corp Jeff worked at Wag Labs, Inc. and LifeLock.
Here are some of the questions that I pose to Jeff:
Tell us a bit about Brain and what your job is at Brain
Your products are around CLEAN MOVE SENSE and FLOW. Why is that?
What is happening in the industry around autonomous floor cleaning?
Challenges and opportunities?
You are taking a partner approach to manufacturing products, explain
Who is making the buying decision when it comes to cleaning?
Let’s talk about data - something your customer never had before. How valuable is cleaning data?
What does the ROI discussion look like? Who makes the purchase decision?
This is kind of a show-me industry, how does the customer buy?
Should we talk about other autonomous vehicles that you are building? Retail?
What do you see as the future?
Enjoy the podcast.
