Prestige Junkie

Katey Rich is joined by The Ankler's founder and chief columnist Richard Rushfield, who has spent a lot of the summer talking about the ways Hollywood is going wrong but consents to some optimism when it comes to the Emmys race. Then, Baby Reindeer Jessica Gunning talks to Katey about the Oscar-winning makeup artist who helped with her Baby Reindeer audition, what it's like when she and co-star Richard Gadd go out together in public now, and what might come next after such a huge breakout performance.

Elaine Low joins Katey Rich to explain why shows like Emmy heavyweights The Bear, Shogun, and The White Lotus are so hard to replicate, and which successful TV trends might be poised for a cargo pants-style comeback. Then Katey talks to Seth Meyers about 10 years of his show Late Night With Seth Meyers, getting heckled via text by John Oliver, and why when Dolly Parton asks if she can send people your children's book, you say yes.

Host Katey Rich is joined by This Had Oscar Buzz co-host Joe Reid to discuss the Cannes Film Festival winners, and which titles could follow in the footsteps of The Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall to major Oscar success.

Then, Katey talks to Maya Rudolph about the second season of her series Loot, in which she co-stars alongside Michaela Jae Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Nat Faxon, and more. After coming up on Saturday Night Live and guest starring on virtually every great comedy of the past two decades, Rudolph says “I feel far funnier among funny people as opposed to being the center of something.” As Loot emerges as a true workplace comedy in its second season, it certainly allows her to do just that.

Then Katey talks to Under the Bridge star Lily Gladstone about her busy life post-Oscar nomination, her personal connection to the true story behind the show, and why making a comedy with Bowen Yang is a more logical step for her than you might expect.
