Live onstage at Televerse, I caught up with the Emmy winning host of Peacock's reality series The Traitors, which just wrapped production on its fourth season. While keeping mum about a few things, Cumming revealed plenty of secrets from within those castle walls, including the odd relationship he builds with the contestants, how he balances his work as a producer on the set as well as hosting, and what he gets to do in character as the show's host that he can't do anywhere else.

Tyler Coates joins Katey and Christopher Rosen to look at the slates for three indie labels owned by studios that all hope to stake their claim in this year's awards race. Searchlight Pictures, the only one of the three to ever win best picture, is hoping to win hearts with Rental Family, while Focus Features is going heavy on auteurs with Yorgos Lanthimos's Bugonia and Chloe Zhao's Hamnet. Meanwhile Sony Pictures Classics has a tried-and-true formula for getting their films in front of voters, and have a heavy historical drama, Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut, and much more.
The episode also includes Katey's conversation with Stephen Graham about his labor of love turned worldwide phenomenon, Adolescence. He calls the experience of making the show like working with a theater troupe, and talks about how he built the confidence to build the series around a series of astonishing single-takes, and why he thinks the show has hit such a nerve since it debuted on Netflix earlier this year.

David Canfield joins Katey and Chris to kick off our five-part fall preview, in which we take a close look at the lineups for every studio that has won best picture in the past 10 years. We're starting, naturally, with reigning best picture champion Neon, who shepherded Anora from Cannes breakout to best picture juggernaut, and are aiming to do it again this year. Can they continue their winning formula? Are they facing challenges from their fellow indie distributors? And can they finally get Elle Fanning the awards season respect she deserves? We get into it all, and much more. Don't forget that this week brings the launch of Prestige Junkie After Party, where you can get video versions of future episodes and lots of special bonus content. Vulture’s Nick Quah joins Katey to talk about why Stephen Colbert feels like only the first of the late night giants to fall, why podcasts and YouTube shows won’t be able to fully replace what late night has done for decades, and how the Emmys might fit into all of this.
