Progressively Horrified

We're headed back to Wellington, New Zealand! It was the home of the original What We Do in the Shadows film (a show favorite) and now we pick up following the local police as they investigate a series of paranormal happenings. Is it "What if the X-Files was stupid?" or "What if cops were actually ok?"? You decide!
We talked about a few episodes, which we'll name at the top, but we totally recommend checking out the whole series!

What if, we did the X-Files, but instead of being a paranoid series about the FBI investigating weirds stuff, it was a super horny show about the Catholic church investigating weird demon shit? What if we made Luke Cage a dreamy priest man and we made that dude that was Ben on Lost henchman of evil? Could we sell that as a new show.
Yes, yes you could, it's called Evil

August is spooky tv month! We're starting it off right with a spooky cartoon whose two leads are a Jewish trans boy and an autistic Indian girl! It's Dead End: Paranormal Park, Netflix's too good for this world two season paranormal theme park adventure and magical talking dog show! It's sadly over now, but that means you can go watch both seasons right now and shotgun the whole thing. Go! DO IT! Then come listen to us talk about it. Talk back to us! Go wild!

I'll be honest, episode 150 has kinda snuck up on us. It's a very normal episode next week.

It's Jeremy's birthday! And for his birthday he decided that The Horror Squad should watch They Live (1988) starring Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David.

There are definitely no subliminal messages in this episode.

It's not gay, but it's for the gays, you know? Three fabulously witchy sisters can only come back when the blackflame candle is lit by a virgin. Thankfully, Salem, Mass. is chock-a-block with orgies. There's the high class masked Victorian one at Allison's house that she's escaping. Then there's the general town one at the dance where groovin all night long is not a problem for the parents of Salem. Who hired this rock band for the small town sockhop anyway?
Sit back and get ready to chant amuck amuck amuck with us!

It's not gay, but somehow it's for the gays?
Listen, it's hard to explain why or how M3GAN, a 2023 surprise hit movie about a killer AI robot is the best film of the year, but once you watch it you'll agree. Oppenheimer who? Barbie what? Who needs to go to Asteroid City when you can do tiktok dances with your murderous android bestie? Not us!
Learn why, according to Alicia, everything's a Frankenstein.

There's Scream, the Screaquel, the Scrilogy, the Screaboot, Screarequel?

This one actually has gay people in it but somehow still doesn't match the raw gay energy of the first one? We really love this one though. Come, join us, for 5 Cream!

Listen, I know when someone says there's a queer horror movie called Sissy, there's an immediate image that pops into mind. This is not that. This is a movie about a sapphic bachelorette party gone wildly awry and the gruesome murders that result. It's Australian and it's amazing.

Sorry, this started with me just typing the name and then I wasn't sure where to stop and I got scared but finally my dog interrupted me to beg for food and I was able to stop to help him even though I couldn't stop to help myself. Isn't it wonderful the things pets can do for us?

Anyway, enjoy this podcast and Happy Pride. We love you!

Trigger Warnings: sadism, violence, gaslighting, extreme gore, torture

Elana is back to raise a whole new generation of hell with us and they brought their partner Frank A Smith!  Y'all ready to talk about people getting pierced by thing? Menacing three dimensional shapes? Harpsicords made of guts? Are you ready to talk about how uncomfortably attracted you art to Pinhead? About how you've always been? About how they awakened something deep inside of you when you were a teen and now that they're being played by a trans actress you feel something new and different awakening?

Or maybe you just want to talk about strangely menacing twinks? Either way, we're here for you.
