In November of 1989, the Rivera's life was changed forever as a the events in their home rendered them all four orphans. Angel is the second of the four, his sister's episode is the one before this one "Holding On To The Unseen Hand"

In this episode, Angel talks to us how witnessing the horror of his parent's death has affected him over the last thirty years. He talks about his fight to keep his family; he talks about the people that he loves and he talks about Jesus, Who never left him, and will also never leave you. He talks the demons of drugs and how that almost destroyed his life.

Angel talks about coming out of darkness, into light and we are reminded of I Peter 2:9--and being called out of darkness into that glorious light. We know that we do not love a high priest who is not familiar with our sufferings, and Angel shares that with us too.

Triumph (ing) over tragedy is the thing that happens here in the healing zone. Hope for all the things, because life with PTSD doesn't have to be lost. Angel proves that to us.
