Special guest Lindsay Tozer bravely tells us about a moment that changed everything. She describes her life as a "line" in her life as "before and after" that day. Twenty years have elapsed and she wanted to tell her story as part of her own healing process as well as an intense desire to help others.
Lindsay's story does not get tied up in a nice bow, her body has recorded the events of that day and yet she still has Hope. She still gets up in the morning, and has dedicated her life and her career in child welfare management, county emergency management and is an accomplished musician.
Diagnosed with PTSD twenty years ago, she still lives with triggers, flashbacks, and floodings. She identifies her community as an important component of her healing and some of her loved ones weigh in on how that day affects her on a daily basis. They help her live with the repercussions of that day and have walked beside her through many more losses, cancer and a host of other health issues. The body truly keeps the score.
She still has questions of God, she is not afraid to tell them to the world. She is living with PTSD and yet another person on our podcast that gives Hope in the face of unimaginable grief, loss and health issues. She bravely tells us of her battle to forgive herself as well.
Her favorite song is "Into The Sea" by Latasha Layton and her favorite verse as Isaiah 54:10
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed says the Lord Who has compassion over you"
She has found the three C's--Community, Church and Counseling as the path to her healing. She calls Jesus her rock and her everything. He is the Star of her story.
Other Scripture Genesis 58.
