In this episode, we interview Katelyn Brewer; she helps us breakdown how she used confidence instilled in her from her parents to grow and serve 100,000 followers. We discussed the power of having confidence and how acceptance of imperfection can drive content.
If you have followed us here on the Push Podcast, you’ve heard us talk mostly about three things; Confidence, clarity, and getting out of the comfort zone. Katelyn embodies all three of these qualities and helps us break them down to help people struggling with content creation.
One of the ways to build confidence is through practice and preparation. When you know you’ve prepared adequately, you have the confidence to go out there and share with the world what you can do. Preparation and practice reduce fear.
However, don’t wait to be perfect to start creating content. At some point, you have to let things flow. You’ve got to be willing to accept the imperfection that’s going to happen in the process. That organic authenticity that comes with it has great attraction power.
Tune in to hear Katelyn's amazing story and her entrepreneurship journey. She shares some important tips on how small businesses can grow their social media accounts.

In the previous episode, we touched on this really powerful exercise where you ask your parents or grandparents some reflective questions about their lives and record their answers. Life passes quickly, and often a time a lot is left unsaid or even unknown.
This exercise helps you get a really good insight into your parents' lives and what really matters in life. Not only will it help you remember them fondly when they are gone, but it will also help you live a life that has an impact on the people around you.
The purpose of this episode is to remind you that life is short. When people gather at your funeral, what will they say about you? How did you impact them, and what can they remember of you? It may be a small thing you did without even thinking but turned out to have a significant impact on someone else's life. Remember, you write your eulogy each day when you are alive.
Tune in to hear Eddie and I talk about mortality and how to live your life in alignment with what you want to be remembered for and its impact on those you cross paths with.
"Let us prepare our minds as if we'd come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life's books each day. The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time" Seneca.

Eddie and I have been on Clubhouse a lot lately, interacting, contributing, and learning new things. Among the many things we learned this week is what rich people teach their kids about money. Many people are not willing to talk about money, and some even believe that money is the root of all evil.
We learned that to grow wealthy, one has to change their attitudes towards money and view it as a tool rather than an end. We have to teach our kids that money is not scary or evil, they have to be willing to work for it and show them different opportunities to multiply it.
We also learned about the power of delayed gratification and how to control impulses, especially as it relates to financial discipline. We should also teach our kids about it, and an excellent way to do it is through the Marshmallow experiment.
Tune in to hear more about this and other important lessons that Eddie and I learned this week and how you can apply them to your life.

Passion is defined as a strong desire or liking or devotion to an activity, object, or concept. So many people are trying to find or discover their passion. They may feel stuck in the monotony of their jobs and may even begin to question their purpose.
However, Eddie and I believe that the word passion is often used so loosely that it has almost lost its meaning. We think that you shouldn’t be putting a lot of pressure on yourself to find your passion. Rather, you should be channeling energy into what you are doing to be the best at it.
Developing passion for something is an intentional journey that takes nurturing. You won’t be naturally excited about many things in life. You have to intentionally focus on a challenge so that you can find the energy and the excitement to pursue it.
Tune in to learn how to develop passion and energy for anything by being intentional and curious about how you can be better and make a bigger impact.

You’ll often, you'll hear people in conversation claiming to know something, yet they are not doing it. They know what they are supposed to do to achieve a certain goal, but they are not taking any action towards accomplishing it.
This big gap between knowing and doing is what Eddie and I are trying to bridge in this episode. In the process of understanding why people remain stuck in the knowing versus doing, we found out that fear plays a major role.
Fear prevents people from making or moving forward with their commitments, from creating new habits and routines even when they know what they should be doing to achieve their goals. Fear is the last barrier that we need to overcome to bridge the gap between knowing and doing.
Are you struggling with taking action towards the direction of your goals? Tune in to this episode to learn how you can bridge the gap between knowing and doing to achieve your goals.

The PUSH podcast is designed to help us show up differently and push through in life while having empathy, understanding, and seeing things from other people's perspectives. To do this, we have to hold even the uncomfortable conversations that some people would want to simply push aside.
Lately, we have been talking about social injustice, racial inequality, and the pandemic. We believe that these are conversations that we all must have if we are to heal and mend as a society. We all must strive to see issues from the other person's perspective. What happens when the shoe is on the other foot?
In light of this, we discuss something that happened when we were enjoying our 16th anniversary. We encountered an older white gentleman who walked into the beachfront condo we had booked and were staying at and told Eddie that he wasn't supposed to be there.
We use it as a learning experience on how we can all build consciousness to understand what other people go through every day. Once we expand our belief systems, we not only have more empathy, but we win in all areas of life, including in our businesses.
Click on the Play Button to listen as we discuss what happened and what we can learn from it, and why we must continue having uncomfortable conversations as a society.

We all watched in horror the siege of our nation's seat of democracy by deranged Trump supporters and still hearing news reports of further planned protests across all 50 state capitols. This is a culmination of the falsehoods and lies that President Trump has been spewing to his supporters.
Eddie and I are so frustrated with what has been happening and what it means to our country, our democracy, and our families. I just want an apology from all those who have supported Trump, including my family members. I need these people to denounce him and everything he stands for. This is a man who incites nothing but hatred and harm.
We don't understand why people are willing to risk their personal brand and be on the wrong side of history, supporting a man who has nothing to do with you. Even if you supported him in the past, it is okay to draw the line and say you put your money on the wrong horse.
Tune in to this episode as we have a dialogue about the state of our country's politics and the recent events at the nation's capital, and what it means for our country.

In the previous episode, we talked about why people don’t set goals. In continuation of that, today Eddie and I will give you some tactical tips on achieving and maintaining your goals. We also talk about how to align your short term goals with your long term goals.
But before we talk about the tips, it’s important to preface that it is not always about the goal. In a society that is consumed by always being in the pursuit of more, more and more, we can easily lose ourselves in pursuit of our goals.
Eddie and I believe that what we are becoming in the pursuit of the goal is more important. And also, we can’t sacrifice everything else to achieve a particular goal. Our happiness, health, sleep, spending time with family shouldn’t be sacrificed to achieve other goals.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about how to achieve and stick to your goals. We also talk about the important lessons we extract in the journey to achieving our goals.

As we start the new year, there are differing opinions on whether we should be setting goals, having just come out of 2020, which threw all plans and goals out of the window. Some people are hesitant to set goals for the new year, but Eddie and I believe that we should.
As you'll be hearing in this episode, we give 10 reasons why people don't set goals and what it means. Pay close attention to the explanation behind every one of these 10 reasons to identify if you are guilty of one or more of them. Eddie and I are guilty of many of them.
Once you understand why you are not setting any goals, it becomes easier to conquer the obstacle. If you can define it, you can defy it. A lot of times, people get stuck, and they can figure things out. They don't know what's stopping them, making them remain stuck.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about goal setting and why you should absolutely be doing it.
