Most of us are guilty of feeling triggered when we see other people winning. However, we don’t know what they have gone through to get to the victory they are now enjoying. For us to grow, we have to be fully exposed and become completely vulnerable.
You become fully exposed by stripping the things you think you know to take on new challenges and learn new things. You can’t grow from a place of comfort; you have to allow yourself to be vulnerable to grow. Once you are exposed, you get so much clarity on what you need, which leads to tremendous turnaround and growth.
Eddie and I encourage you to stay in faith and stay in action. Where you are right now is not your destination, you are just there temporarily as you stride towards your victory. When you see other people winning, don’t feel bad about yourself, don’t feel triggered; your day is coming as well, provided you allow yourself to be fully exposed and vulnerable to experience growth.
Are you ready to be fully exposed and vulnerable to experience tremendous growth? Click Play on this episode and learn how our passion to profit course is the perfect opportunity to strip down to the studs.

Did you know that some of the world’s most successful businesses were born out of a recession? Yeah, that’s right, during a recession or an economic downturn like we are in right now due to COVID, is the perfect time to start a business. Our Cake Mamas business was born out of a recession in 2009. And so were other great companies that you know like Slack, Uber, Instagram, and Venmo.
Eddie and I believe that Necessity and Opportunity are the main reasons why it’s a good idea to start a business right now. Successful people find a workaround during times like these to optimize available opportunities rather than just sit there and complain.
Life is challenging and was never supposed to be easy. When you encounter challenges along the way, like many people have during this pandemic, what is your attitude towards them. You can choose to sit there and have a poor attitude towards the challenges, or you can choose to find opportunities.
Just like other challenging times in history, some people will come out of this pandemic with something new and useful to society. That’s why most millionaires are built out of recessions than at any other time. These people are no different from you listening to the PUSH podcast. They are just driven by necessity and opportunity
If you are wondering how to start a profitable business and how to develop as an entrepreneur, Click Play on this episode and listen as we explain why this is the best time to start.

If you follow the @thecakemamas Instagram, then you know we recently organized a garage sale for all equipment and stuff from the bakery after closing down the business. During the garage sale, I met so many awesome people who wanted to buy the equipment. Since most of them were small business owners, I made some interesting observations, which I thought would make some good lessons.
The first lesson I want to share with you is to stop making yourself small. During my interaction with the people who came for the sale, I realized many people make themselves appear small even when what they do is a huge deal for them. Eddie and I believe that doing this impedes your growth and doesn’t give you the confidence you need to become a successful business owner.
Another observation I made is that people want to hold onto things. Many people who came for the sale never believed that I was ready to let go of all the bakery stuff. Having closed the bakery, it didn’t make any sense to continue holding on to the stuff. Once you outgrow some things, continuing to hold on to them for sentimental value doesn’t help you move forward.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about the lessons from the garage sale, including why you shouldn’t expect a lot of support from family and friends in your business.

Knowing your worth and value and being able to articulate it is an important life skill that will open many opportunities for you. Too many people complain of not being paid or valued enough, yet they don’t know how to articulate and negotiate their worth.
In both the business and the professional world, you’ll often find people who have a tremendous set of skills, yet they can’t tell their story or negotiate for compensation worth their skills or value. For instance, in an interview setting, the interviewers will assess your worth based on how well you sell yourself.
Whenever you are negotiating your value, you should always present any type of skills, qualifications, and facts that make the other party see all that you are bringing to the table. Never sell yourself short or feel shy about stating facts about you even when you think they may not be as relevant to the position you are looking for.
Once you get a position, Eddie and I believe that you have to outperform your role to be in line for a promotion and more responsibilities, thereby increasing your value and placing you in a good position to negotiate for more money.

Welcome back to another PUSH episode! This has been a crazy year for us. In this episode, we want to pull the curtain and show you what our lives look like behind the scenes. Considering everything that’s going on, I think we’re all entitled to feel the things we feel and get real.
We’re going to touch on a lot of topics today and discuss ALL the things we are dealing with at the moment.
Everyone’s familiar with regret, not doing what you know, and strained relationships and misunderstandings.
We certainly had some heated arguments with our friends and family. As we go through this social unrest, we are all invited to rethink our backgrounds and see where we’re all coming from. Just because something is true for you, it doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone.
So many changes are happening. We want to talk about what it means to go out there and really start doing things, without holding back. Life is not promised, and we need to make the most of the time we have together.
Press play to listen to this special episode. Let’s PUSH through this together!

In this episode, we discussed the 3 keys to starting a business and improving your career. Selling, Marketing, and Improving your craft are the 3 things you need to work on to build a solid business and career. Practicing these activities helps you gain confidence which is built by taking action.
There are tons of people out there who dream day and night about one day starting their own business. So why don't they?! Well, Eddie and I think it's because of a lack of confidence. These dreamers are doubting themselves and that in turn has them doubting their product or business.
Any time someone comes to me with this issue, I simply tell them one thing... don't be afraid of sucking. The truth is, EVERYONE will suck in the beginning of starting something new. I wasn't an exception and you sure won't be either.
Everybody, including all those people who look confident, has a fear of not being good enough. This is known as the imposter syndrome. But, whatever you do, you can't let this hold you back from taking action towards achieving your dreams. You’ll have fewer regrets in life if you start getting used to taking action.
All this is not to say you won’t have some stumbles, bad breaks, and self-doubt. However, once you outlast these fears, you gain confidence and momentum that help you find the energy and focus needed to do amazing things. Businesses are about momentum, not perfection!
If you want to learn more about how to overcome your fears and gain the confidence to start a business, click play on this episode.

In this episode, we discuss the difference between your truth and facts. And how our truths impact politics, goals, and PARENTING?!
Truth is an internal thing. We take different things in our lives to make them mean something to us and create a personal belief system.
Facts, on the other hand, are external things you can measure. Think about data, statistics, and things like that. The problem we have is that we find every reason to validate our "truth" despite the facts that are right in front of us. We always want to be right. This is what you call confirmation bias.
When you get obsessed with your truth, it can blind you. It becomes this poisonous thing that closes off your mind from different perspectives. You always approach issues with a skewed perspective to validate your truth no matter what, and you don't even realize it. This type of thinking is holding us back as a society.
Once you identify that some of your views might be flawed, you need to try a break free from this. The way to do that is to build your self-awareness and surround yourself with people you possibly disagree with; this will help open up your mind and perhaps help with your perspective on the things that impact your life.
Tune in as we talk about this and other exciting topics, including how our Cake Mamas farewell party went down.

Between these three types of currencies, time, money, and quality, you can only have two. You can’t have all three. For us, we value time above everything else because you can never get it back. As you get older, and establish yourself and build wealth, you value time more than money.
However, there are some things that we’ll make time for. These are things that money can’t buy. Before taking on something, it is important to think about the time it will take you, then decide if you can trade-off that time rather than spend money and probably get better quality.
This goes the same way with our careers and professions. Is it worth trading off your time and aspirations for a salary? Conversely, you may be doing something meaningful that gives you fulfillment, so you don’t mind trading off your time for it.
Everything comes down to time, quality, and money. Weigh these three currencies and decide how you are spending each of them in every aspect of your life.

Time is not always on our side, which sometimes makes us perform when our back is against the wall. Most people will perform well under this pressure only that they do not allow themselves to be in this situation often. How you perceive this situation is also essential. It helps to see it as an opportunity to perform rather than a stressful situation.
Sometimes, you just need to intentionally put your back against the wall. Remove the time that you think you need to make a decision and just make a decision and move forward with it. Buying time will often lead to not getting anything done.
We also talk about how we perceive certain situations. Having already announced that August 22 will be the last day of Cake Mamas. We have run the business for a decade, and we are excited to move on to other things. However, some people react with disappointment, which may be due to how they perceive change.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about shifting your perspective and how to perceive situations.

We have all made commitments to ourselves then later broke those commitments. We end up letting ourselves down which creates shame. We struggle to remain committed to our commitments due to our discipline and will power. We do a lot of damage when we constantly break our commitments.
Remaining committed to our commitments builds our self-esteem. Knowing that you can live up to your commitments and do right by yourself is a powerful feeling. Doing things that are good for you, even when they are hard does wonders for your self-esteem. You are prepared to face any challenges that may come your way because you are used to being outside your comfort zone.
There are three types of discipline; preventative, supportive, and corrective discipline. When making any commitments or challenge, you need to cover all three bases to be successful. Listen in to this episode and learn how to go about it.
