Relationships and other aspects of life would be so different if we learned to create boundaries. Doing so creates a healthy relationship where either party knows what the other will accept and what they won't accept. It also establishes effective communication within the relationship.
It is your responsibility to teach people how to treat you. If you don't teach people what you'll tolerate and what you won't, then there's going to be a problem. There's a consequence to everything in life: if you don't stand up for yourself, then there will be consequences for this.
When dealing with people, whether in relationships, at work, or anywhere, there will always be some problems. When these arise, and you feel that you have not been treated right, it's not your fault. But it's your responsibility to course-correct by clearly communicating your boundaries.

Nobody wakes up and goes inviting problems in their lives, but the reality is that you are not always in control, and you’ll face problems in this life. Eddie and I believe that rather than wishing away or praying for a problem-free life, we should be prepared for the worst that can happen.
Life is about ebbs and flows. Things happen that we didn’t plan. Life was not meant to be smooth sailing; we will encounter problems all the time. However, the weight we usually give the problem is often unwarranted.
When we encounter problems, we have to go through them, not ignore them. Once we go through them, we can then change to a new state of mind so that we don’t take the problem to other areas of life. Often, we see people taking their problems from one place to another and just creating more problems.
Tune in to this episode to learn of the practices you need to get through life’s problems

2020 has been a tough year for many people, and the Copeland household has had its fair share of upheavals. So many things have happened, but having the right attitude has helped us sail through the storms. Approaching life with the right attitude helps you get more from it even when it throws some challenges your way.
The question that Eddie and I want to ask you is, What's your attitude towards basic things in life? Your life will be a mirror of how you approach things. If you approach things with a bad attitude, then you'll be frustrated and stressed out all the time. How you show up in life and the attitude you respond with matters.
One of the ways to have the right attitude is by modeling your life around successful people. Learn how they approach things and how they respond to challenges that come their way.
"Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind" William James
Tune in to this episode to learn more about effective attitude around things and why it matters so much in life.

Like every one of you, Eddie and I had made the perfect plans for 2020. We had everything mapped out and had goals set for the year. Lo and behold, everything was turned upside down with the pandemic and other events that have happened during this quite challenging year.
Amidst all the difficulties, we have learned important lessons that we thought could help you too. As a matter of fact, people grow the most during challenging times. We have previously shared our story of losing almost everything during the 2009 recession, but it ended up being one of the biggest blessings of our life.
The first lesson is that you are not in control. You can make the best plans, and everything just seems figured out, but for some uncontrollable reason, all your plans are thrown out of the window. However, this doesn’t mean that whatever you had planned will never take place; it just means you have to be patient.
Tune in to this episode to hear all the important lessons we have learned in 2020 and how to apply the lessons in your life.

When was the last time you exercised courage in your life? More often than not, we exercise courage, even when we are not aware of it. We do some things that other people would look back and think it must have taken courage to do that. Some other times, we have to summon the courage to tackle the big things that we face in life.
I recently came across a recipe for developing more courage, which I think will be helpful to share with you. The first ingredient to developing more courage is by learning how to properly communicate with yourself. This means that what you say to yourself matters a lot if you are to do something courageous.
The second ingredient to summoning courage is focusing on the consequences. This helps quickly overcome the fear of not doing what you need to do when you visualize how inaction will impact your life. The third ingredient in our recipe of courage is focusing on positive outcomes.
Tune in to this episode and listen as we discuss these three steps in detail and also show you how you exercise courage in your day to day life, which helps you summon courage for the bigger things.

We are all prone to falling victim to self-sabotage, which holds us back from pursuing our goals or trying to level up in life. We become our own worst enemies by creating situations or behaviors that impede our progress.
The thing with self-sabotage is that it’s a very discrete thing. It is not something that you are purposefully doing, but rather things that are considered normal but ultimately hold us back.
Some symptoms of self-sabotage include procrastination, quitting, not keeping your word, being in toxic relationships, negative self-beliefs, refusing to commit to anything, avoidance, false righteous stance, lack of planning, and many others.
One of the reasons people self-sabotage is that their self-esteem is so low that they don’t take chances they know they should be taking. They are afraid of success or going out of their comfort zone that they prefer to remain where they are.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about self-sabotage, why we do it, and how it holds us back from achieving our goals.

When you get old, the one thing that you wouldn't want is to be filled with tons of regrets on how you led your life. You don't want to feel that you didn't pay attention to some of the important things in life.
Eddie and I came up with 10 key lessons that most people learn too late in life. Hopefully, if you are young, these lessons will help you understand some important facts of life before it's too late. However, even for older people, it's never too late to make a change.
The first lesson we have for you is that you have to use it or lose it. Many of us spend time going about the usual routines, stifling our creativity, and it all goes away. Another critical lesson that we tend to learn late in life is that anything worthwhile takes practice. We should always be in practice of anything that we want to be good at.
Click play on this episode to get to know the 10 most important lessons that people learn late in life and how to apply them in your life right now to avoid regrets later.

As a society, we have become so politically polarized that we can't talk about politics without getting emotional and angry at each other. We have reached a point where we can't speak about issues that are important to us without being accused of being from the other side. This has even affected families to the point of not speaking to each other.
Even when we make bad political choices, we are not willing to listen to any other opinion. Instead, we double down on our choices and look for any reason to justify why our decision was the right one.
However, this should not be the case. We can have opposing views and political perspectives and still be friends and talk about politics without getting angry and emotional. Hearing other people will help you understand where they are coming from even when you don't agree with them.
As a parent, you should keep your family emotionally safe from all that is happening. It is important to have political conversations without brainwashing them into your political beliefs.
Click play and listen as we talk about the political situation in our country and why we are so divided along political lines.

As you may have seen on my Instagram and also heard in previous episodes, we are in the middle of our home remodel, which means Eddie and I have been making a lot of decisions lately to the point of experiencing decision fatigue. It takes physical and mental energy to make a decision, which can be exhausting. However, we have some important lessons we wish to share with you from this experience.
Sometimes, you have to make adjustments and compromises in order to move forward. Don't be that person who digs their heels into the situation and creates a standoff because you will be super disappointed. In the case of a home remodel, keep in mind that everything has to be negotiable, and this applies in other areas of life too. Make a decision and move on.
Another key lesson we want you to understand is that there's no wrong decision. You just have to learn to make the most out of the decisions you make. You can always go back and build on the decision to make it better.
But remember, just as there’s no wrong decision, there also never exists a perfect scenario to make a perfect decision. The key is assessing all your options, then making the best decision in the prevailing circumstances.
Are you struggling with your decision making? Click play on this episode to learn more about how indecisiveness impacts you and how to improve on your decision-making process.
