Happy July!

I mentioned last week how my friend said she wants to get in the best shape of her life this month, perfect with Mars in Leo. But then she got sick. And i got sick too. Most of the people in town got sick actually. It’s one of the quirks of living in a small Mexican village. Things can go around quickly. Thankfully, they also passed quickly. 

This inspired me to think deeply about the phrase “best shape of your life.” It’s something many people want, but no matter how healthy you are, we can all still get sick. We all age. So it’s not as much about the external, physical shape, but the internal sense of health and wellness that matters. 

Health is something I’ve been passionate about since I became conscious of my diet as a teenager. I was drinking my usual 3 sodas a day (!) when I asked my friend if he wanted one. He said no, because it causes muscle loss. I was shocked. I knew it was bad for my teeth but I never thought beyond that. I immediately stopped drinking soda and began to examine the effects of all foods and lifestyle choices. This eventually lead to me becoming a yoga teacher in 2011 and specializing in Ayurveda; the science of life extension. 

Reflecting on this inspired me to offer a new workshop to share the best lessons I have learned about health from Yoga, Ayurveda, Astrology and 20+ years of trial & error since the day I stopped drinking soda. It’s called “Get In The Best Health Of Your Life.”

Eclipse season ended on May 19th, but I feel like I’ve fully landed on the other side of the eclipses just in the past couple days. The 6 week eclipse window is a time for major life choices, ending one chapter of life, and beginning another. For me it has involved a sudden move to Mexico to stay for a while near a beautiful sacred site. Several synchronicities and intuition lead me here, and it’s been amazing, but also very much a practice of ishvari pranidhana (surrender to god / universe / source.) 

I want to share about this and use my own chart as a case study, because it’s fascinating to see the patterns so clearly play out. While my decision was made mostly by intuition, astrology helped validate that I’m on the right track and removed any sort of hesitation or anxiety about the decision, which feels much better! 

These are similar to the predictions I make with clients in 1-1 readings. These ones can apply anytime you have the transits I name (Ex; Ketu over your second house, which Libra risings and moons will have in November). These interpretations also apply right now for anyone else who has Virgo Rising / Gemini Moon or Virgo Moon / Gemini Rising. 

The transits I share on this episode are just some of the major things, and there are many more. This all is incredibly helpful, but even as a professional astrologer, I still say that astrology is second to intuition. Astrology can help you live more in alignment and have a clearer intuition, but it can never replace your intuition. As I’ve been making major decisions recently I tune into what feels true and in alignment, then check my astrology for validation and to see if the current and upcoming transits are auspicious or inauspicious for what i’m sensing. It’s somewhat like when you know you want to go out to eat. You might not know exactly which restaurant, so you search the area to see what’s nearby, then choose the option that feels best. Astrology shows you what options are nearby, but you always get to choose where you want to go. Still, there could be construction, closures, the food you want is sold out, etc, or it could be the best meal of your life. Or you could decide to stay in. Sometimes there’s too many options. So whatever choice you have to make next in life; look for synchronicities. Keep your intuition clear with diet, exercise and lifestyle. Consult your astrology for spiritual guidance. Stay on top of your finances to make sure it makes sense materially (more on that soon!) Share with people close to you because we’re social beings and gain so much perspective through relationships. Or, if you truly feel called towards something, you can just leap and trust that the net will appear, even if it doesn’t make sense right now. I’ve done this many times in my life and can say I’m so grateful for each time I’ve done that.

I often get asked about the role of astrology in predicting wealth and prosperity. While the planets and signs play significant roles, as I shared in the last two episodes, it's actually the houses that act as the stage upon which the planets express. 

When you divide the sky into twelve sections, you get the 12 months of the year, the 12 signs of the zodiac, and the 12 houses. Each house represents a different area of life. 

Some houses are most often associated with wealth and prosperity, such as the 11th house of financial gains. Other houses are most often associated with financial challenges, like the 12th house of losses. These are both true, but they are oversimplifications. 

The 11th house shows the income and gains you receive from your profession or business. It’s the house of fulfillment of desires and represents your ambitions. If you have planets well-placed here in your chart or in transits, you’re likely to have great gains in your work. But what if you don’t have any planets here? Or if you have a challenging placement here? 

In the same way, while the 12th house shows losses, what if you have planets that are well-placed here? Or no planets?

In this new podcast, I share the nuances of how to interpret your houses in your chart, as it relates to wealth and prosperity.
